Run by the British Olympic Association (BOA), Team GB competes at Olympic and Olympic Winter Games and other events such as the European Games, Youth Olympic Games and European Youth Olympic Festivals.The BOA’s primary purpose is to: • Select, lead and manage Team GB at Olympic and Olympic Winter Games and all International Olympic Committee (IOC) and European Olympic Committee (EOC) accredited events such as Youth Olympic Games, European Youth Olympic Festivals and the European Games, and; • Develop the Olympic Movement and promote the principles and values of Olympism in our territory of responsibility. The RoleKey Responsibilities• Lead the end-to-end workforce planning process for major games and competition environments, ensuring the right people are in the right roles at the right time • Develop staffing models, deployment plans, and operational structures aligned to performance and organisational objectives • Work closely with sport leadership, performance teams, Head of HR and operational stakeholders to understand workforce requirements and priorities • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, sports, and external delivery partners to ensure seamless execution • Identify workforce risks, resource gaps, and contingency requirements, implementing solutions proactively • Lead workforce communications and ensure all staff are clear on roles, responsibilities, and operational expectations • Capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement across games planning and delivery • Always ensure compliance with GDPR and safeguarding policies• Support implementation of workforce systems during games time• Work in partnership with the Head of HR on compliance and best practice • Contribute to Team GB across Summer and Winter events including Youth, European and Olympic Games, which may require extensive overseas travel and extended periods away from homePerson Specification: • Strong leadership and people management capability, with experience leading teams in complex environments • Excellent planning, organisational, and project management skills • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight deadlines and high-pressure conditions • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across senior leaders, sports, and operational teams • Sound decision-making and problem-solving capability in fast-moving environments • Strong understanding of elite sport, major event delivery, or high-performance environments • Excellent communication skills, highly personable, with the ability to build trust and alignment across diverse groups • Highly detailed orientated with experience of using systems to accurately manage large data sets • Experience leading multi-site workforce, or operations in elite sport, major events, or similarly complex environments • Experience working in a major games environment such as the Olympic Games, Paralympic Games, or equivalent high-performance setting is desirableAt the heart of Team GB is our vision to unite and inspire the nation through Olympic sport.
