Ashton Gate Stadium is a unique sports and entertainment business with the core aim of providing integral support services to ensure the sustainability of Stephen Lansdown’s sporting group of companies which includes Bristol Sport, Bristol City, Bristol Bears, Bristol Flyers Basketball and each of their respective community charities.

JOB PURPOSE

The DLO advises Bristol City Football Club, Bristol Bears Rugby and the stadium on all aspects of access and inclusion, working with all areas of the organisation and dealing with both matchday and non-matchday activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (KPIs)

Be the main point of contact between the clubs and its disabled supporters
Maintain a clear understanding of disability legislation and providing an accessible stadium and club premises on both match and non match day
Stay up to date with legislation including the Equality Act 2010, accessible stadia guidance and new legislation
Advise and support the club / stadium on meeting and exceeding the UEFA minimum requirements
Attendance at all home match days to ensure access requirements are met
Advise and support Bristol Bears / stadium on meeting and exceeding the Premiership Rugby Limited (PRL), Premiership Women’s Rugby (PWR) and Academy Minimum Operating Standard audits from an EDI perspective across the season.
Promoted the needs of disabled people to the club and ‘champion’ disability issues and the business benefits of creating and accessible and inclusive stadium
Ensure the clubs and stadium undertake a professional access audit and develops a mission statement and access plan to ensure the club meets its legal duties and to ensure continuous access improvements to all facilities and services at the club and all stadium areas such as ticket office, hospitality, stadium seating, parking, shop, VIP areas
Ensure all staff at the stadium and clubs are aware of their responsibilities to disabled supporters
Report to senior management and establish an access strategy
Work with other departments at the clubs and external agencies to ensure access information for disabled supporters and visitors is available via the clubs media channels and available in accessible formats
Liaise with other club DAO’s and external organisations such as Level Playing Field and encourage the sharing of best practice
Ensure adequate provision and responsible allocation of disabled parking areas
Arrange disability awareness training for all club / stadium staff
Ensure equal-opportunity ticketing policy for disabled fans
Essential

An understanding of and a commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion and how they relate to the DAO role and the wider EDI strategy
Ability to communicate well to a range of audiences, and using different mediums, with oral and written skills to a high standard
Ability to work under pressure, make sound judgement calls and manage competing priorities
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and with external stakeholders
Ability to problem solve effectively, demonstrate resilience when faced with challenges
An understanding of fan engagement
Flexibility to work 5 out of 7 days to include working evenings and weekends

Hours: 5 out of 7 days to include home match day fixtures
