Job Description
Job Title: Casual Transport Driver

Hours of Work: As and when required. Hours of work may vary according to the needs of the business.

Location: Blackburn Rovers Football Club, Ewood Park, Blackburn, BB2 4JF (and remote as agreed with line manager)

Responsible To: Operations Director

Contractual Status: Casual - £15.00 P/H

Closing Date: 15th June 2026

Interview Date: w/c 25th June 2026

Overall purpose of the Job:
To be responsible for driving a convert single decker bus to various locations as part of the youth engagement offer; working alongside other BRCT staff, to assist with allowing access to the bus and its resources.

To be responsible for the safe transportation of programme participants, volunteers and staff members to events, trips, competitions and/or other relevant charitable activities, via the organisation’s minibus.

Duties and Responsibilities
To be committed to ensuring the safeguarding and welfare of all participants, promoting their wellbeing needs whilst maintaining professional boundaries;
To perform driving duties when available and required, which may include morning/evening collections and return journeys to designated drop-off points;
To complete other duties whilst awaiting returning transport legs (at the reasonable discretion of the line manager);
Ensuring the buses location is safe and secure to facilitate participant engagement;
To ensure mileage records are recorded accurately for each journey;
To ensure vehicles remain clean and tidy and well maintained;
To prepare and carry out weekly checks of the allocated minibus/bus including oil and water;
To provide transport services to matches as and when required;
To ensure the minibus and bus have annual MOT’s and servicing and is taxed appropriately;
To attend relevant transport meetings as and when required;
Any other duties as reasonably assigned by the Trusts Executive Management Team.

General:
Act at all times as an ambassador for Blackburn Rovers Community Trust and the Blackburn Rovers brand. To be able to work flexible and unsociable hours where the role of the job requires including some evenings and weekends and, on rare occasions, overnight stays.

Person Specification:
Knowledge:
Essential:
Safeguarding awareness and knowledge of procedures;
Good knowledge of up-to-date legislation and health and safety procedures;

Desirable
Knowledge of local routes/destinations which the BRCT may visit.
Experience of working within a football club and / or CCO.
Safeguarding and risk management experience.

Experience:
Essential:
Previous experience of driving large vehicles, buses and minibuses.

Desirable:
Experience of working within a football club and / or CCO.
Safeguarding and risk management experience.

Qualifications
Essential:
Full clean UK driving licence with D1 category

Desirable:
Safeguarding Training
First aid qualification

Skills:
Essential:
The ability to work as a team as well as use own initiative;
The ability to be flexible to meet the needs of the business;
Good timekeeping; and
The ability to meet set deadlines.
