The role would include attendance at weekly training sessions and match days, ensuring players receive appropriate assessment, treatment and return to play support.Key ResponsibilitiesInjury Assessment & Treatment• Assess, diagnose, and treat musculoskeletal injuries sustained during training and matches• Implement evidence-based treatment and rehabilitation programmesMatch Day Medical Cover• Provide pitch-side first aid and emergency management during matches• Manage acute injuries including concussion protocols in line RFU guidelines• Ensure medical equipment and emergency action plans are prepared and implementedPlayer Rehabilitation• Design and deliver individual rehabilitation programmes• Work closely with strength and conditioning staff to progress player’s rehabilitation programmesInjury Prevention• Assist in implementing injury prevention strategies Training & Match Commitments• Attendance at weekly team training sessions (evenings)• Match day cover for selected fixturesQualificationsEssential Qualifications• Degree in Physiotherapy or Sports Therapy• HCPC registration (for Physiotherapists) or membership with The Society of Sports Therapists / Sports Therapy Association (for Sports Therapists)• Valid Pitch-Side First Aid qualification (i.e. PHICIS L2/3)• Professional indemnity insuranceDesirable Qualifications• Previous experience working within rugby union or contact sports• Strength and conditioning knowledgeKey Skills & Attributes• Strong clinical reasoning and injury management skills• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced sporting environment• Excellent communication skills• Ability to make rapid decisions in emergency situations• Professional, reliable, and organisedSalary• Sessional rate or match-day fee (dependent on experience) How to apply Please send a CV and cover letter to headphysio@bsrfc.co.uk with the subject header 'Physiotherapist/ Sports Therapist' highlighting your skills and experiences.
