Trustee - Promotion and Engagement Lead

Location: Trustee meetings are held in Halesworth, Suffolk. Whilst in-person attendance would be preferable, this role could be completed entirely remotely.

Job Description: To provide strategic leadership in how BANS communicates its impact, engages its stakeholders, and builds its public profile to support long-term sustainability and growth.

In addition to the general responsibilities of a trustee, duties of the promotion and engagement lead include the following.

* Advise the board of trustees on the development of a long-term communications and engagement strategy.
* Ensure the charity’s "voice" and visual identity remain consistent and aligned with its core mission.
* Provide guidance on maximising digital platforms to reach new audiences and deepen engagement.
* Work with the Chair to identify opportunities for the charity to influence public debate or policy.
* Advise on reputation management and provide a steady hand if the organisation faces media, regulatory or public scrutiny.
* Act as a high-level spokesperson for the charity at networking events, conferences, or in the media.
* Help the board understand engagement metrics.
* Network effectively with national and local organisations, including Wheels For All, British Cycling and Cycling UK.
* Support the HS&S Lead Trustee and DSO (Safeguarding) where recruitment and assessment issues would benefit.
* Prepare, review, revise and support the presentation of promotion and engagement material – liaising with the secretary for the provision of such material as required.
