Whilst in-person attendance would be preferable, this role could be completed entirely remotely. Contract type Volunteer Closing date 30 September 2026 Job Description To provide strategic leadership in how BANS communicates its impact, engages its stakeholders, and builds its public profile to support long-term sustainability and growth.In addition to the general responsibilities of a trustee, duties of the promotion and engagement lead include the following.* Advise the board of trustees on the development of a long-term communications and engagement strategy.* Ensure the charity’s "voice" and visual identity remain consistent and aligned with its core mission.* Provide guidance on maximising digital platforms to reach new audiences and deepen engagement.* Work with the Chair to identify opportunities for the charity to influence public debate or policy.* Advise on reputation management and provide a steady hand if the organisation faces media, regulatory or public scrutiny.* Act as a high-level spokesperson for the charity at networking events, conferences, or in the media.* Help the board understand engagement metrics.* Network effectively with national and local organisations, including Wheels For All, British Cycling and Cycling UK.* Support the HS&S Lead Trustee and DSO (Safeguarding) where recruitment and assessment issues would benefit.* Prepare, review, revise and support the presentation of promotion and engagement material – liaising with the secretary for the provision of such material as required.
