Job Description
Location: Our Office is based in Milton Park (OX14 4SG) The role will require a mix of in-person and remote meetings and conversations.
Salary: This is a voluntary position; reasonable expenses will be paid in line with our policy.
Hours: It is expected that this role will require (on average) 2-6 hours per month.


The Opportunity

We are looking for an INED, preferably with legal expertise, to join our team of Directors, a person with experience of working within a legal enviroment. You will be credible, influential, and passionate, with a skill set that will help us to make strong business and football decisions whilst maintaining the highest standards of governance.

Our board have an appreciation for grassroots football, as a membership organisation we value individuals who have an understanding of the complexities of working with a membership of volunteers. Supported by the executive team, led by the CEO, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of the organisation and for grassroots football across Berkshire & Buckinghamshire.


Main responsibilities

- Serve as a Director of the Association and contribute to setting the strategy of the Association.
- Execute the responsibilities of a Company Director in accordance with the Companies Act (2006) and other relevant legislation.
- To assist the CEO to review compliance management systems in accordance with our strategy, adherence to legislation and regulatory bodies processes and procedures.
- Provide strategic leadership, guidance and advice on legal matters.
- Provide support to, and act as a sounding board for the CEO and chair of the board on legal matters.
- Safeguard the interests of membership and stakeholders of the Association
- Act as an ambassador and represent the Association at internal and external meetings and functions.

You'll really impress us if...

You have knowledge of key legislation areas affecting businesses, a knowledge of safeguarding and experience of managing organisational performance.
