Job Description

Job Title: Sessional Academy Analyst
Department: Academy
Reports To: Academy Analyst
Location: Hampshire & Berkshire
Hours: Sessional hours, zero-hours contract
CORE PURPOSE
We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Sessional Academy Analyst to support our academy programme with the filming of training sessions and matches.
This is a practical, sessional role focused specifically on high-quality video capture. There is no requirement to code or analyse footage as part of the role.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Filming designated academy training sessions and matches
• Setting up and operating filming equipment
• Ensuring footage is captured clearly, consistently and from the appropriate angle
• Monitoring recording quality throughout sessions and matches
• Uploading and transferring footage promptly following filming
• Taking appropriate care of filming equipment
• Communicating effectively with academy staff regarding schedules, venues and any filming requirements
• Representing the academy professionally when attending home and away fixtures
TYPICAL WEEKLY SCHEDULE
Monday Evening
• Training at Havant RFC, Hampshire
• Approximately 2 hours
Wednesday Afternoon
• Home fixtures at Havent RFC, Hampshire
• Approximately 2 hours – 6 hours which includes travel
• Match programme across the season, including approximately 6 home and 6 away fixtures
Saturday Morning
• Training at Peter Symonds College, Hampshire
• Approximately 2 hours
• The role would suit someone with flexibility across these time slots. Availability for every session may not be essential, depending on programme requirements.
SESSIONAL PAY RATES
Training session: £30
Home game / closer away game: £60
Longer-distance away game: £90
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
We are looking for someone who is:
• Reliable, punctual and well organised
• Comfortable working independently
• Confident using cameras and basic filming equipment
• Able to maintain concentration and filming quality throughout training sessions and matches
• Flexible around academy schedules and fixture changes
• Interested in rugby, performance sport or sports analysis
• Able to travel to training venues and fixtures as required
Previous experience in sports filming, performance analysis or a rugby environment would be beneficial, but is not essential. Training and guidance on filming expectations and equipment can be provided.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain regular experience within an academy rugby environment while supporting the delivery of a high-quality player development programme.
