Contract type

Job Description
Job title: Social Media Content Creator
Reporting to: Head of Fan Growth & Content
Department: Marketing
Contract Type: Full-time 37.5 hours, with some weekend and evening work required

Overview
Bath Rugby is seeking an energetic and motivated Social Media Content Creator to deliver high-quality, engaging content across rugby, commercial and club activity, supporting Bath Rugby’s fan growth, brand and revenue objectives.

In this role, you will be a key part of the content/creative team, supporting filming and editing workloads, with a focus on the consistent delivery of social-first video content—capturing, editing and publishing output that brings the club to life across digital platforms

Key Responsibilities
Content Creation:
• Create high-quality Bath Rugby video content to support wider marketing and commercial objectives, with a primary focus on capturing content from the academy, pathways and NextGen programmes, ensuring consistent visibility of emerging talent and club development stories.
• Academy, pathway and NextGen content includes:
• Bath Rugby U18
• ACE School Rugby
• University BUCS Super Rugby
• Women's rugby and Bath Rugby Women's 7s
• NextGen community
• Generate ideas, plan, produce and edit social-first video content, with a strong emphasis on Instagram and TikTok.
• Remain up to date with social trends to deliver reactive short-form content.
• Support, where required, in delivering first-team rugby content.
• Support filming across senior matchdays, player content features and commercial activations.
• Support delivery of content plans.
• Support commercial, ticketing, membership and retail campaigns through content production and templated graphics.
• Work closely with the Content/Creative team and key stakeholders to support planned content capture.

Social Media Support
• Support the Social Media Manager in the publishing and scheduling of content across all platforms.
• Write clear, engaging and on-brand captions tailored to each platform (particularly Instagram and TikTok).
• Assist in the day-to-day management of social channels, ensuring timely and accurate posting.
• Support live matchday coverage, including same-day content capture, editing and publishing.

Role Requirements:
• The role requires working at approximately 50% of Bath Rugby matches (home and away), including evenings and weekends, delivering live content capture and publishing.
• Time off in lieu (TOIL) is provided for time worked outside of standard hours.

Skills & Experience
• Strong understanding of social media trends, content formats and what performs across platforms (particularly Instagram and TikTok).
• Strong video shooting and editing capability.
• Strong level of knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud platforms, specifically Premiere Pro and Photoshop (desirable).
• Experience working in sport or live content environments (experience within a team/club preferred).
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work within structured content workflows.
• Confident in capturing content independently across matchdays and club events.
• Strong organisational and administrative discipline, with clear process-driven thinking and attention to detail.

Personal Characteristics
• You have a love for sport (doesn’t have to be rugby!).
• You are energetic and hold yourself and others to high standards.
• You bring positive energy and a commitment to high-quality work.
• You deliver great work and support and care about your colleagues.
• You thrive in and promote the Bath Rugby high performance culture – force for good, tough to beat, in, all in, all the time, champions mindset to deliver results.
• You are proactive, organised, and accountable, taking ownership of your areas.
• You set clear priorities and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• You seek continuous improvement and welcome constructive feedback.
• You are motivated by both long-term growth and day-to-day delivery.

What We’re Looking For
A typical candidate will have experience in content production within a sports environment (essential), along with a solid understanding of social media platforms and their audiences. Experience within a professional team or club is preferred but not essential.

While this is often reflected by 2+ years’ experience, we are open to candidates who can demonstrate equivalent capability through a strong and relevant portfolio of work.

What We Offer
• Competitive salary
• 25 days annual leave + bank holidays
• Comprehensive benefits package including:
o Complimentary matchday tickets and Bath Rugby branded kit
o Local discounts and wellness initiatives
o Onsite gym usage and Cycle to Work scheme
o Enhanced maternity and paternity

Safeguarding

Due to the nature of our business, child adjacent roles, and the requirement to upkeep the reputation of our club, any offer of employment for this role will be conditional upon the declaration of any unspent convictions and other relevant safeguarding or protection orders, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Any information disclosed will be considered fairly and will not automatically disqualify an applicant.

Due to the nature of the role, if you are successful, we will require you to undertake an enhanced DBS and submit two references as part of our safer recruitment practices.

Location:
Based at Bath Rugby HQ, Farleigh House and The Rec in Bath City Centre. Travel to academy, pathways and grassroots fixtures and events is a core part of the role.
Due to the rural locations and limited public transport, applicants must live within commuting distance and have access to their own transport.
How to apply
Please send your CV and a covering letter outlining your suitability for the role to opportunities@bathrugby.com. Bath Rugby is an equal opportunities employer, and we welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates
