Job Description
Reporting to the Head of Medical and Performance, the First Team Graduate Performance Coach will be a contributing member of performance and medical team. During the one-year, fixed term contract, you will provide performance services to First Team players at AFC Bournemouth.

Key Responsibilities
Provide training and match day support, including but not limited to nutrition, hydration, recovery and gym functions.
Maintain an organised, safe, and operable gym environment.
Assist in the delivery and support of football performance programs, including warm-up sessions, recovery protocols, and basic training preparations.
Help implement basic athletic improvement activities under supervision, focusing on player movement and fitness.
Support the collection and basic analysis of player performance data, including monitoring workload and recovery.
Use player monitoring tools to gather information on player fitness, aiding in the creation of individual profiles and guiding training adjustments.
Use basic technology solutions to track player physical progress and measure performance improvements.
Maintain accurate player data records, ensuring all rehabilitation and profiling information is properly documented in electronic systems.
Assist with early-stage rehabilitation exercises under guidance, supporting injured players in their recovery process.
Work alongside medical and performance staff to support long-term rehabilitation programs for injured players.
Provide support for the physical development of players needing specific physical improvement.
Contribute to the basic assessment of player physical performance during pre-signing medicals.
Communicate with the Team Nutritionist to understand and support player nutrition needs, ensuring they align with performance goals.
Contribute to departmental professional development in service sessions and share domain specific knowledge with departmental teammates.
As a member of staff to ensure in all matters, you follow and actively promote the club’s mental health policies and practices to ensure an open, non-judgmental and inclusive environment for everyone engaged with the club.
As a member of staff to ensure that you to adhere to the club’s safeguarding policies and procedures and are committed to our safeguarding values, creating a safe and positive environment for all those who interact with the club.

Responsibility to comply with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, and all related Company policies, taking reasonable care for their own safety and that of others, reporting hazards or incidents, following safe systems of work, and co-operating with all training and emergency procedures.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
MSc Sports Science or relevant degree topic, or equivalent experience with a relevant bachelor's degree.
Strength and Conditioning accreditation (ability to obtain in 6 months)
Desire to become a well rounded practitioner, improving in knowledge and practical application
Experience with gym and pitch-based performance service delivery in elite sports.
Technology savvy – ability to autonomously integrate multiple technologies and data management practices to support and document services.
Availability to travel.
