Job Description
About Access Sport
Access Sport is a national charity with a vision that no one should be excluded from the transformational benefits of community sport. We are on a mission to make inclusion the norm in community sport by tackling the access barriers faced by disadvantaged and disabled young people.

We do this by training, equipping, and supporting community sports clubs, organisations, and volunteers to provide inclusive programmes, unleashing their potential to transform the lives of underserved young people in their local communities.

This work is either place based or sport focused. All the clubs we support are invited to join our Inclusive Club Network. A copy of our 2022-2027 growth strategy, Stand for Inclusion, which provides further details about our work and future development plans, can be found on our website.

In 2025/26 Access Sport engaged over 40,000 disadvantaged and disabled young people, with a strong representation from ethnically diverse communities, girls, and previously less active young people.

Read more about our impact in our Annual Review. A number of videos showcasing our work can be found on our YouTube channel. These include a recent film about our new cycling and basketball facilities in Cadishead and a dedicated film about our work in Partington, Trafford.

Role purpose
Summary
Access Sport is looking for a Community Coordinator to support the delivery of our growing youth leadership and club development work in Greater Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to play a hands-on role in helping community sports clubs create meaningful opportunities for young people to lead, shape, and influence the activities and communities they are part of.

This role sits within a new and evolving national approach to youth voice and youth leadership, designed to embed co-production and shared decision-making across community sport. You will work directly with local clubs to help them develop inclusive environments where young people are supported to take on leadership roles, share their views, and progress into coaching, volunteering, advocacy and governance pathways.

The postholder will work closely with our Youth Advisors, club volunteers and coaches to support the practical delivery of youth leadership activity. This will include club visits, helping to organise local events, delivering training, and ensuring that young people’s voices actively shape practice at a local level.

This is a highly delivery-focused role, best suited to someone who enjoys being in community settings, building relationships, and supporting young people to take practical steps into leadership through sport.

Responsibilities
Delivery and club development
• Work directly with community sports clubs to support the delivery of youth leadership and youth voice activity.
• Carry out regular club visits (including evenings and weekends) to build relationships and support ongoing delivery.
• Support clubs to embed youth voice into sessions, decision-making and wider club culture.
• Facilitate and support youth leadership workshops, sessions and activities with young people.
• Work alongside coaches and volunteers to help create inclusive environments where young people can lead and participate.
• Support the delivery of local events and youth leadership opportunities, including celebration and showcase activities.
Youth engagement and support
• Build positive and trusted relationships with young people involved with community clubs.
• Work closely with our Youth Advisors to support youth-led delivery and ensure young people’s voices are reflected in practice.
• Support young people to access leadership opportunities in inclusive and accessible ways.
• Gather informal feedback and insights from young people to inform learning and improvement.

Partnerships and local relationships
• Work closely with the wider project team across the UK to support consistent delivery, share learning and strengthen practice across local areas.
• Build strong relationships with clubs, schools, youth organisations and community partners in Manchester.
• Represent Access Sport in community settings in a professional, positive and engaging way.

Monitoring and Evaluation
• Collect participation and volunteer data, attendance records and programme insights using internal systems (training provided).
• Gather case studies, stories and feedback to demonstrate impact and inform programme development.
• Contribute to reporting requirements for funders and partners.
