Drug Information Database
UK Sport's Drug Information Database (DID) is the most comprehensive and up-to-date sports drug information service available to athletes and support personnel anywhere in the world. DID can be accessed at anytime and from anywhere @ www.didglobal.com
Please read the information below before accessing DID and making an enquiry.
DID is intended as an indicative guide to the status of UK-licensed medications and substances. The information on the database is based on UK-licensed products and substances currently on the market. The data is not exhaustive and therefore if a substance cannot be found, a further search is needed. You may email UK Sport from DID to make any further enquiries.
DID will not advise athletes on the use of supplementation in sport, in accordance with our position statement issued first in May 2003 and revised in April 2007.
UK athletes are strongly advised to be extremely cautious about the use of any supplements. No guarantee can be given that any particular supplement, including vitamins and minerals, ergogenic aids, and herbal remedies, is free from prohibited substances as these products are not licensed and are not subject to the same strict manufacturing and labelling requirements as licensed medicines.
Anti-doping rules are based on the principal of strict liability and, therefore, supplements are taken at an athlete's risk and personal responsibility.
Always consult a qualified medical practitioner, accredited sports dietitian and/or a registered nutritionist before taking supplements, and if a vitamin or mineral supplement is recommended, pharmaceutical-grade products may reduce the risk of using a contaminated or poorly labelled product.
