One summer on from London 2012 world class rowing will return to Eton Dorney at the UK Sport backed Samsung World Rowing Cup.
The event, part of the National Lottery funded Gold Event Series, will take place from 21-23 June 2013 and provides a great opportunity for rowing and sports fans alike to tune up their voices and get behind the team once more.
Tickets for the event go on sale on Wednesday 27 February, with daily tickets, three-day passes and family ticket options available.
Eton Dorney played host to GB’s most successful Olympic rowing regatta of all time last summer, with four gold, two silver and three bronze medals for Team GB’s rowers.
The World Rowing Cup will bring many of those stars back to the Dorney Lake, including gold medallists Andrew Triggs Hodge, Pete Reed, Alex Gregory and Helen Glover, amongst many others.
Having last been staged at Eton Dorney in 2005, the 2013 event will mark only the second time that the World Rowing Cup series has visited the UK.
UK Sport Major Events Consultant Rebecca Edser said: “Rowing at Eton Dorney was one of the highlights of London 2012, with a hugely successful British team cheered on by the vocal crowds lining the Dorney Lake.
“The World Rowing Cup will be a great opportunity for sports fans to see the best rowers in the world and experience that atmosphere once again.
“With only three World Cups per year, this will be one of the most prestigious rowing events on the calendar and we are delighted to support this event as part of the Gold Event Series.”
