UK Sport 31 January 2013

UK Sport is offering you the opportunity to win tickets for the British Lionhearts next home fixture against the unbeaten group leaders Astana Arlans Kazakhstan at York Hall in London on Thursday 7 February.

To be in with a chance of winning tickets, look out for the quiz question on UK Sport’s Twitter feed, @uk_sport, on Thursday 31 January. The first three people to answer correctly will each win a pair of tickets.

The British Lionhearts are currently third in Group B, just one point behind Dolce & Gabbana Italia Thunder, who they face this weekend (2 Feb). A victory for either side will virtually guarantee qualification for the knockout stages of the World Series of Boxing and a chance to win the one million Euros first prize.

Established in 2010, the World Series of Boxing is a national team boxing competition made-up of 12 teams from across the world. A WSB match between two international franchises consists of bouts in five weight categories: bantamweight (54kg), lightweight (61kg), middleweight (73kg), light-heavyweight (85kg) and heavyweight (91kg+).

Competitors box without vests and head guards and the WSB scoring system is based on the ‘ten point must system’. Each bout is decided by the scores of three judges or by a knockout, technical knockout, disqualification or walk over. There are five three-minute rounds in each bout and the team that wins the most number of bouts wins the match.
