Liz Nicholl, Chief Executive of UK Sport praised Andy Hunt for his contribution to London 2012 success following his resignation as Chief Executive of the British Olympic Association.
She said: "I worked closely with Andy Hunt on the incredible journey from Beijing to London 2012 and the amazing success of winning 65 medals and securing third in the Olympic medal table was a real team effort.
"While UK Sport invests in and supports sports with the development of their athletes through the World Class system, it is the BOA that is responsible for leading the team into the Games and Andy and the BOA delivered the best possible environment for Team GB to perform.
"I wish Andy all the best for the future and look forward to continuing to work closely with the BOA as we build toward Sochi 2014 and Rio 2016".
