After 11 sports highlighted their concerns around investment for the Tokyo 2020 cycle, UK Sport invited them to meet with the new Chair Dame Katherine Grainger to discuss the issues raised.
UK Sport Chair Dame Katherine Grainger said: “I would like to thank the sports for coming to meet with me today (30 August) in London.
“We had a useful, positive and in-depth discussion around funding concerns.
“I firmly believe that every single sport does matter and all the sports in attendance were given the opportunity to have their say.
“It was important for us listen to the concerns raised. We have committed to giving serious consideration to all of the issues raised by the 11 sports and to maintaining an open and ongoing dialogue.
“I will share the discussion today with the UK Sport Board at our next meeting.
“I would like to emphasise that there is the opportunity for any unfunded sport to present a case for investment from UK Sport at each annual review.”
