The first of this year’s Finance and Governance Forum workshops will be hosted later this month, bringing together a number of high-profile representatives of various sports.
Organised by UK Sport, Sport England and the Sports and Recreation Alliance, the ‘Understanding and Managing Risk’ workshop will look to de-mystify risk and risk management.
Led by Hilary Milne, Head of Audit, Governance and Risk at Sport England, the workshop will cover, how consideration of risk really can benefit organisations and we will also address head on thorny questions such as ‘what on earth does maintaining a risk register or discussing risk really do to help us as an organisation?’
The workshop will provide delegates with some useful and practical ways to manage risk in their organisations, including how to come up with a workable risk strategy and policy. It will also explore how best to consider risk at board level. The focus of the day will be on the practical and pragmatic, not the theoretical.
