The deadline for applications to be a Tour de France Tour Maker later this year is looming, and we encouraged anyone yet to complete their applications to do so by Friday’s deadline.
The Tour Maker programme has already received the full backing of reigning Tour de France champion Chris Froome. The Team Sky rider, who will start the defence of his yellow jersey in Leeds on 5th July, said: “I’d say to everyone ‘come and become part of it’. The Tour is like a big carnival and this is your chance. It’s really exciting that the race is coming to the UK and to be a part of it will be amazing – it’s your Tour!”
Applications have until Friday to complete the application form to become a Tour Maker. All those who have pre-registered should have received an email by now inviting you to complete the first stage of the selection process to becoming an official Tour Maker for the Tour de France in the UK.
The deadline for completing your application is looming so if you haven’t already done so, now is the time to fill in your form to ensure you are in the running to play a part in the largest annual sporting event in the world. You will need to log on using the email address you originally used to register to be a Tour Maker.
If you are unsure if you have received your formal email invite or have any questions or queries about your application then please contact the Tour Maker team on questions@tourmakers2014.com or 0844 848 4517, they will be only too happy to help.
Yorkshire based supermarket Asda has committed to the recruitment and clothing of the volunteers and will provide the final volunteer force with a Tour Maker uniform exclusively designed by the retailer’s clothing brand George.
