Meet the Team

We're here to support you and ensure our high-performance community thrives.

Our aim is to design and deliver a range of blended learning and development experiences, to help you to maximise your potential. Whilst also ensuring a connected high-performance community is continuously developing, and that ‘people’ remain a competitive advantage for Olympic and Paralympic sport in the UK.

To do this we offer learning and development opportunities tailored to suit your needs - including the annual and highly renowned PLx.

The events, modules, programmes and workshops we offer are suitable for those working in World Class Programmes in Olympic and Paralympic sport, examples of which include performance directors, coaches and operational support.

The People Department, alongside other departments at UK Sport are working collaboratively to ensure relevant and timely development offers are available. You can find out more about their skills and experience and how they can create bespoke learning and development for you and your sport on the ‘meet the team’ tab.

What development do I need?

All of our learning and development offers are underpinned by the Leadership & Management Framework. Explore the framework and where you are on your leadership journey by watching the video below:

What you can expect

"The Future Performance Leaders course was really timely and valuable in my development and really benefitted my transition into a PD role. One of my key intentions of applying had been to take myself out of my comfort zone as well as challenge and develop my approach. There were some powerful, memorable experiences and learnings throughout the course that did all of the above, but one of the most impactful aspects was the support network that was developed through the cohort, which brought a range of perspectives and made the journey all the more fun and enjoyable." - Tom Duggan, Performance Director, GB Archery

I now find myself in a position where I share my experiences from the UK Sport Coach Leader course with the next generation of leaders in my own sport, encouraging these coaches and support team members to sign up to the next UK Sport leadership course to reach the next level in their delivery, as coaching is our collective and sustainable competitive advantage across the UK high-performance community, into the Paris 2024 and LA 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games – Tom Hodgkinson, Paralympic Podium Coach, British Cycling (appointed as Head of Paratriathlon, starting June 2022)

"I found my development centre experience really beneficial. Not only did it help me to develop my leadership skills and identify areas I could improve, but most importantly, it was a big confidence boost. It helped me to realise that I have a lot of strengths and qualities to offer and that I can rely on these in tough situations. It also helped me to build belief in my abilities and take a step forward in my career." - Jess Thom, Lead Psychologist, British Shooting
