This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience working within a finance team to develop their accounting career while contributing to the work of a national charity dedicated to improving young people’s lives through sport and play.

The Youth Sport Trust works to improve children’s lives through sport, physical education and physical activity, helping every young person reach their potential. We are now looking for an Assistant Financial Accountant to join our Finance Team and help provide accurate, timely and insightful financial information across Youth Sport Trust and Youth Sport Trust Enterprises.

As Assistant Financial Accountant, you will support a broad range of finance activities including payment runs, expenses, credit card reconciliations, sales invoicing, banking, cash book management and debtor control. You will also play an important role in month-end processes, supporting the preparation of overheads, journals, accruals, prepayments, fixed asset accounting and monthly balance sheet reconciliations, helping to ensure accurate financial reporting and robust financial controls. The role will support year-end audit preparation, help maintain strong financial controls and contribute to the continuous improvement of finance processes and systems across the organisation.

We are looking for someone who is AAT qualified or a part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). You will have experience working within established financial procedures and controls, alongside experience of financial processing, reconciliations and month-end activities. You will possess strong Excel skills, experience of using financial systems and financial controls, and the ability to communicate effectively with a range of colleagues and stakeholders. You will be highly organised, accurate and customer-focused, with a proactive approach and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

In return, you will join a collaborative and purpose-driven charity passionate about improving children's lives, where staff are encouraged to contribute to the leadership and direction of the organisation. Our values underpin everything we do, and we pride ourselves on a culture that supports innovation, collaboration, inclusion and personal passion. Benefits include a generous annual leave entitlement, health cash plan, employee assistance programme and volunteering days.

If you have the skills to support our work and share our belief in the benefits of sport and play for children and young people, we would like to hear from you. To apply please visit https://careers.youthsporttrust.org/ and complete an online application

The Youth Sport Trust therefore positively welcomes and seeks to ensure we achieve diversity in our workforce and that all job applicants and employees receive equal and fair treatment. We encourage applications from all candidates regardless of age, race, sex, gender identity, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or nationality.
