Are you passionate about bringing people together to create meaningful change for young people? If you have experience supporting or managing initiatives and enjoy working collaboratively across sectors, this is your opportunity to help shape a more inclusive and connected school sport and activity system.

The Youth Sport Trust is committed to improving young people’s lives through sport. We harness the power of physical education, physical activity and sport to unlock potential, support wellbeing, and create more equitable opportunities for every young person. We are now looking for a Development Officer to join our People and Place team, supporting the delivery of United Action and the School Sport and Activity Sector Partnership (SSASP).

In this role, you will play a key part in connecting partners across education, sport and youth sectors, helping to coordinate a shared approach to improving outcomes for young people. You will support the planning and delivery of SSASP activity, working closely with national and local stakeholders to bring programmes to life, facilitate collaboration, and share learning across the sector. You will also contribute to pilot projects that test new approaches, ensuring that insight and impact are captured and used to inform wider work.
You will help drive forward inclusive practice, ensuring that diverse voices, particularly those of young people, are represented and embedded in project design and delivery. From coordinating action groups and events, to managing reporting processes and supporting communication activity, your work will help strengthen partnerships and increase the reach and impact of this important agenda.

We are looking for someone with experience of managing or supporting multiple projects, ideally within education, sport, or youth settings, who is highly organised and confident working with a range of stakeholders. You will be a clear communicator, able to build relationships, coordinate activity, and adapt to changing priorities.
Experience of monitoring budgets, producing reports, and using data systems will support your success in this role, alongside a proactive and solutions-focused approach.

Joining the Youth Sport Trust means becoming part of a team that values collaboration, innovation, and impact. You will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful national work, while developing your skills in a supportive environment that offers generous annual leave, a health cash plan, an employee assistance programme, and volunteering days. This is more than a job, it’s a chance to help create a more connected, inclusive system that enables all young people to thrive.

If you share our belief in the power of sport and have the skills to support this work, we would love to hear from you. To apply, please visit https://careers.youthsporttrust.org/ and complete an online application.

The Youth Sport Trust believes that diversity drives excellence, and that representation matters. We positively welcome applications from all backgrounds and seek to ensure that all applicants and employees receive fair and equal treatment regardless of age, race, sex, gender identity, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or nationality.
