Job Description
Worcester Warriors are offering an exciting full-time physio/sports therapy role within the medical team. The successful applicant will support all facets and functions of the medical department in delivering excellent care to the first team squad.
We are seeking dedicated and knowledgeable applicants with a special interest in the management of elite athletes. Demonstrable experience or an understanding of the typical requirements for working in an elite sporting environment are essential.

The successful candidate will be able to add value to our forward-thinking, multi-disciplinary support team, and have a strong commitment to personal and professional development. They must be competent in delivery of services to a cohort of professional rugby players within their scope of practice.


Role Summary:
The succesful applicant will be responsible for contributing to all aspects of the medical service provision to the Worcester Warriors first-team, including pitchside/pre-hospital first aid on home and away match-days and during training sessions. You will require strong manual therapy skills and an ability to plan and deliver rehabilitation and injury prevention strategies. Your work will be delivered as part of a wider performance team. As such, you will need to adopt a team approach and maintain excellent communication between all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure effective assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of injured senior players.
• Design and deliver rehabilitation programs & return to play schedules for players in consultation with the Head Physiotherapist and Head of Medical Services.
• Collaborate closely with other members of the performance and coaching team to ensure optimal reconditioning and seamless training integration of injured athletes in your care.
• Ensure timely communication with the Head Physiotherapist regarding the management of all injured players in your care.
• Hold (or be eligible for) RFU Level 3 PHICIS certification – Provide pitchside support and pre-hospital care on home and away match-days and at training sessions.
• Maintain a good working relationship with all key personnel, including colleagues, players, and external contacts and networks.
• Keep up to date with current best practices, maintain self-directed CPD, and take an active role in the departments CPD programme.
• Keep accurate contemporaneous medical records in accordance with the standards set by governing bodies and league minimum standards criteria.
• To carry out all other reasonable duties that may be required by management and are within the post-holders' capabilities.
Education and Professional Qualifications:
Essential
• BSc in Physiotherapy or Sports Therapy (Equivalent qualifications will be considered)
• Membership of the Health Care Professionals Council and Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (or similar).
• Pre Hospital Immediate Care in Sport Level 3 Certified (Or the ability to obtain)

Desirable
• MSc in Sports, or similar performance related field
• Prior Experience of working in rugby or with athletes from another sport at an elite level
