The ideal candidate will have experience coaching young children and be confident delivering a range of invasion games (e.g. football, netball, tag rugby, basketball, hockey) in line with the national curriculum and school PE objectives.Key Responsibilities:Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive invasion games sessions tailored to the needs and age groups of pupils (ages 5–11).Promote enjoyment, skill development, and teamwork through structured physical activities.Ensure all sessions are safe, fun, and appropriately challenging.Maintain professional relationships with school staff, pupils, and parents where necessary.Set up and pack away equipment before and after each session.Provide basic monitoring of pupil progress and contribute to school feedback if required.Essential Requirements:Minimum Level 2 coaching qualification in a relevant sport (e.g. football, rugby, multi-sports, PE & School Sport).Experience working with primary school children in an educational or community setting.Strong knowledge of invasion games and effective teaching strategies.Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one prior to starting).Safeguarding and first aid certifications (or willingness to obtain).Reliable transport to travel to schools in West Lancashire.Desirable:Level 3 qualification or working toward a higher-level PE/sports coaching award.Experience working within the school sport premium framework.Ability to deliver inclusive sessions for pupils with SEND.
