Job Description: About the Role
Wales Rugby League is seeking a People-focused Independent Non-Executive Director (INED) to join its Board. This voluntary role offers a unique opportunity to shape the culture, inclusion, and leadership development of a national sport that unites communities across Wales.

Key Responsibilities
As People NED, you will:
Champion Culture: Embed values of respect, inclusion, and collaboration across WRL.
Drive Inclusion: Lead WRL’s equality, diversity, and inclusion strategy.
Support People Development: Oversee initiatives in leadership development, wellbeing, and engagement.
Promote Best Practice: Ensure governance frameworks support ethical leadership and continuous improvement.
Board Engagement: Contribute to strategic discussions with a focus on people and organisational effectiveness.

What You’ll Bring
Proven leadership in HR and organisational development.
Experience designing and implementing inclusive people strategies.
Strong understanding of governance frameworks and compliance.
Experience in not-for-profit, sporting, or membership organisations (desirable).
High integrity, strategic thinking, and a collaborative mindset.
Passion for inclusive leadership and empowering diverse voices.

Role Details
Type: Voluntary (reasonable expenses reimbursed)
Time Commitment: ~3 hours/week + 4 board meetings/year + attendance at key matches/events
Location: Flexible (remote or at venues)
Term: 3 years, renewable by mutual agreement
