Korfball 2nd Team Coach Organisation University of Manchester Salary £1000 Location Armitage Sports Centre, Fallowfield, Manchester Contract type Fixed Term Closing date 17 July 2026 Job Description We're looking for an enthusiastic and committed coach to lead our University Korfball 2nd Team for the 2026/27 academic year. The season runs from approximately October 2026 to May 2027, and you'll be joining a thriving club with a strong competitive record. Last season, our 2nd Team achieved an outstanding 3rd place finish at BUCS, making them the highest performing university 2nd team in the country. For the upcoming season, the team will compete in the North West 2 League and will feature a diverse squad ranging from complete beginners to players with several years of korfball experience. We're looking for a coach who can create an enjoyable, inclusive environment while supporting players' development and helping the team achieve success on and off the court. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver two 90 minute training sessions per week at the Armitage Sports Centre (weekday evenings) Attend all BUCS tournaments (typically two Saturdays and one weekend per season), which may involve travel outside Manchester. Support player development, team cohesion, and match preparation throughout the season. Optional: Attend weekly league fixtures, usually held on Sundays (home games are at the Armitage Sports Centre). Essential Requirements Level 1 Korfball Coaching Qualification. Experience or confidence in coaching players of varying abilities. Strong communication and organisational skills. Enthusiasm for player development and fostering a positive team culture.
