1st Team Netball Coach Organisation University of Manchester Salary £8552 (contract for services Sep 2025 - May 2026) Location Armitage Sport Centre, Fallowfield, Manchester Contract type Fixed Term (Part time) Closing date 8 August 2025 Job Description The post holder will deliver quality coaching, leadership, management, organising and performance monitoring to the University of Manchester’s Netball Club and increase their performance in British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS). This role will be responsible for the coaching and management of the 1st team performance level players within the club, alongside the holistic development of the Netball club as a performance sport at the university.Main Duties & Responsibilities• Lead Netball at all levels of the club, establishing a long-term Netball operational plan (coaching, physical performance, training, competitions, culture and support services) to produce a high-quality student experience of Netball and top-level performances.• Deliver an effective coaching programme that helps improve the performance and experience of 1st team Netballers.• Attend and manage BUCS fixtures of the 1st team or conduct training/attend other club fixtures in the event of no fixture.• Analyse match performance and provide feedback and actions as appropriate.• Lead the club with input from club coaches and team captains to select playing squad and maintain a transparent selection processes and pathways between teams. This will require attendance at trials.• Mentor and develop coaches in the University of Manchester Netball programmes, including student coaches within the club, offering support where appropriate to members who wish to undertake coaching qualifications or opportunities within the Coaching Pathway.• Provide regular information and status reports, as agreed with the Performance Sport Officer, on team and club performance and progress.• Promote the University of Manchester as a destination for talented Netball players to progress in their sport and academically.• Assist UoM Sport performance staff in recruiting students to engage with coaching opportunities, providing opportunities where appropriate to coach within the club.• Work closely with the UoM Sport Coordinators and committee members to assist with the development of the Netball at The University of Manchester. • To ensure all sessions comply with Health and Safety.• To work within an equal opportunities’ framework.
