The Opportunity:
Use your knowledge to drive change. Be part of something bigger.

Here, you can continue to make a difference in everything around you. Take on new challenges, grow your career, be recognised for your contributions, and benefit from our commitment to your wellbeing. Be part of something bigger — where your work has real impact and your development matters. There are so many reasons to take your next step with us.

Can you spot a future international in an athlete who has never picked up an oar? Join one of the UK's leading sporting universities and build a pathway that takes talented student-athletes from any sporting background into performance rowing. Where the potential is there, that pathway leads on to Scottish Rowing, British Rowing and GB Rowing programmes.

You'll be part of a high-performance culture that helps athletes thrive both academically and athletically.

Finding talent (30%): Run annual recruitment campaigns and talent-transfer initiatives, working with University clubs and coaches to identify athletes with the physical, technical and behavioural potential for rowing.
Coaching (40%): Plan and deliver evidence-informed programmes on land and water, build strong technical foundations, and create individual development plans.
Managing the pathway (20%): Set clear progression standards from recruitment to our senior squads. Hold regular athlete reviews, and support athletes through testing, trialling and national selection.
Running the programme (10%): Keep accurate records, contribute to planning and review, and support the safe use of boats, facilities and equipment.
You'll work alongside strength and conditioning, physiotherapy, sport psychology and performance lifestyle colleagues, as well as Edinburgh University Boat Club and our national partners.

People have always been at the heart of our work. Our people are at the centre of the University community and everything we do. We value colleagues with drive, determination and a passion for what they do. We are a place where everyone is welcome and offer a range of policies and benefits designed to support you in building the right meaningful flexibility that works for you.

A career with us has a range of other benefits that can be tailored to your lifestyle:
Opportunities to develop new skills and broaden your experience
Variety every day
Responsibility and autonomy
