Who are UK Sport?

We are the UK’s trusted high-performance experts, powering our greatest athletes, teams, sports and events to achieve positive success. Investing a combination of National Lottery and Government funds, we support our Olympic and Paralympic sports to realise their world-leading potential and help bring major sporting events to the UK. Our purpose is to lead high-performance sport to enable extraordinary moments that enrich lives.

We are on a mission to create the greatest decade of extraordinary sporting moments; reaching, inspiring and uniting the nation. That mission is underpinned by three ambitions for UK high-performance sport; to keep winning and win well, to grow a thriving sporting system and to harness those to inspire positive change. Working with the sports and events we fund, DCMS, and our partner organisations across the UK high-performance system, we are building on 25 years of ever-growing success to write the UK’s next chapter for Olympic and Paralympic sport.

About the role

As Power BI Developer, you will play an important role in transforming complex data into clear, accessible dashboards and reporting products that support analysis and informed decision-making across UK Sport.

Working closely with colleagues and stakeholders, you will design, build and maintain Power BI dashboards, data models and self-service reporting solutions that meet operational and business needs. You will manage reporting architecture, data refreshes, access and data integration, helping to ensure information is accurate, reliable and easy to use.

The role will also support key organisational processes, including Performance Investment, by improving how data is captured, structured and presented. Through strong technical expertise, stakeholder engagement and clear documentation, you will help colleagues make effective use of data and contribute to the continuous improvement of UK Sport’s reporting.

Who will I be working with?

You’ll work closely with colleagues across UK Sport at all levels, as well as external partners and stakeholders, building trusted relationships that support effective decision making across the organisation.

This role supports our hybrid working approach, with regular office attendance required in line with team and organisational expectations.

About you

You’re an experienced Power BI professional who enjoys turning complex data into clear, accessible and user-friendly reporting solutions.

You have strong technical skills in Power BI, DAX, Power Query and SQL, with experience developing dashboards, semantic models and data transformations. You combine attention to detail with a strong understanding of data quality, accessibility and visualisation best practice.

You’re confident working with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into practical solutions. Organised and collaborative, you can balance development work with ongoing support, explain complex information clearly and contribute to the continuous improvement of reporting.

What you’ll bring

• Significant experience designing, developing and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Strong skills in Power BI Desktop and Service, DAX, Power Query and SQL.
• Experience developing semantic models and transforming data from multiple sources.
• A strong understanding of data visualisation, accessibility, data quality and security.
• The ability to gather requirements and translate them into practical reporting solutions.
• Strong communication, organisation and stakeholder-management skills.

It’s a bonus if you also have:

• Experience using Power Automate, Power Apps, Microsoft Fabric or other Microsoft 365 services.
• Knowledge of data warehousing, performance optimisation or data-capture solutions.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis or experience working with sports data.
Relevant Microsoft certification or evidence of continuing professional development.
