As one of the world's largest and highest-profile sporting events, UEFA EURO 2028 will attract the attention of the sporting and major event communities, the media, and the public at large across the UK& Ireland, Europe and the World. With its unique hosting model, the event promises to spread the impacts and benefits of the tournament across the nations and communities of the UK and Ireland

The Organisation
UK & Ireland 2028 Limited has been set up as a new company to locally deliver several UEFA requirements for the tournament, working closely with UEFA, 9 Host Stadiums, 8 Host Cities and other key stakeholders.

You will lead the delivery of the UK & Ireland 2028 Tournament’s social impact partnership projects, using the power of football to inspire positive change and deliver tangible benefit in communities across the UK and Ireland. The role focuses on driving participation inclusion, community cohesion and economic impact goals through leveraging the power of our unique, multi-nation partnership – whilst supporting the tournament’s ambition to be at the core of society.
This role supports the successful delivery of the UK&I 2028 Tournament through inclusive, values-driven and performance-focused contribution. The role is expected to model our organisational values: Embrace the Opportunity, Achieve Excellence, and Thrive Together

• Lead delivery of the tournament’s Community Amplification Plan — oversee creative and agency part-ners to deliver a large-scale communications campaign and associated activities across the UK and Ireland, including a far-reaching schools programme.
• Drive coordination of the partnership’s Community Collaboration Projects (across Society & Football) – lead on UK & Ireland contributions and work with government and football association partners to en-sure successful delivery meeting impact, inclusion, and sustainability goals.
• Lead planning of an ambitious, flagship social impact activation to be delivered in the months preced-ing the tournament (to early 2027).
• Lead Social Impact Working Group including overseeing UK&I 2028 secretariat duties completed by Impact & Sustainability Coordinator.
• Support management of a wide-range of tournament social impact stakeholders including UEFA, UEFA Foundation, government partners, football association partners, commercial partners, third sec-tor funding partners, and suppliers.
• Support development of partner social impact plans (comprising National Plans governed by govern-ments and football associations, and commercial partner social activiations) - ensure partner social impact delivery is in line with the UK&I 2028 impact framework.
• Work with UEFA to implement a successful tournament innovation programme that is aligned to UK and Ireland’s impact and sustainability objectives, and contributes towards longer-term legacy goals.
• Support development and implementation of a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) framework for the social impact partnership projects.
• Champion sustainability integration across all tournament operations, influencing partners and inter-nal teams to adopt responsible, inclusive and climate-conscious practices.

What are we looking for?
• Proven experience leading or delivering high-profile social impact programmes, ideally within sport, major events, or social development sectors.
• Experience of developing, implementing and evaluating complex programmes whilst retaining focus on the practical delivery of measurable outcomes.
• Strong understanding of community delivery environments across the UK and Ireland including con-sideration of diversity, inclusion, education and sustainability principles.
• Experience in multi-stakeholder collaboration across public, private and voluntary sectors.
• Experience of commercial partner integration into social impact initiatives.
• Excellent project management skills, capable of balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with ability to inspire and influence stakeholders.

Embrace the Opportunity
• Creates strategic space for innovation.
• Role models adaptability in response to uncertainty.
Achieve Excellence
• Monitors performance and ensures continuous improvement.
• Aligns team activity to wider organisational goals
Thrive Together
• Influences cross-functional relationships positively.

Why apply?
We offer a competitive salary (plus benefits of 25 days holiday, contributory pension, Private Medical Insurance etc), which coupled with the opportunity to be part of one of the biggest sporting events to ever take place across UK & Ireland we think makes for an exciting place to be!

Where is the role based?
Our head office is based at the iconic Wembley Stadium in London, however depending on your role you may be required to travel across the UK and Ireland to our 9 Stadiums and 8 Host Cities, with some roles being based in those locations.
As an event delivery organisation, we believe in the power of collaboration and connection. That’s why we currently work from HQ at least two days a week. From 2026, this will increase to three to four days a week, and during the tournament year (2028), full-time onsite working will be required.

Everyone is welcome
