Job Description
Job Summary:
Truro City Football Club seek an enthusiastic, hardworking and committed individual to become the
men’s first team physiotherapist for the 2025-26 campaign.
The Tinners will compete in the National League (level five of the English football pyramid) and Football
Association (FA) competitions - the FA Cup and FA Trophy.
The men
'
s first team physiotherapist will work alongside the first team manager and his coaching staff
to diagnose, treat and rehabilitate injured players. The role will also include providing pitch side
treatments during the teams’ fixtures.
Key Responsibilities:
Attending all training sessions and games during pre-season and normal season.
Soft tissue management and treatment as part of pre-training and pre-match preparation
(such as strapping and massage) as well as other modalities.
Assessing and treating injuries which occur during training sessions and matches.
Managing injured players through their rehabilitation and return to play programs.
Keeping accurate and up to date medical notes; and keeping a regular and current CPD portfolio.
Ensuring good communication pathways with all management and coaching staff regarding player
availability and optimal training strategies for players.
To abide by all club policies including (but not exclusive to) safeguarding, equality and health and
safety.
Work with the club doctor and sports therapist accordingly.
The monitoring, maintaining and ordering of medical supplies, through collaboration with the club’s
secretary and administration staff.
Person Specifications (Essential):
Willing to be ‘hands on’ and brings a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
Exemplary work ethic.
Understands the flexible work nature of the professional football industry.
Be agile and able to adapt to different and changing situations.
Have the drive and enthusiasm to set high standards and achieve team objectives
An excellent communicator, presents professionally and has good interpersonal skills.
Full clean UK driving license.
Qualifications & Experience (Essential):
Previous experience working as a physiotherapist/graduate sports therapist in a sporting
environment.
FA Advanced Trauma Medical Management in Football (ATMMiF) certification or an equivalent to
accepted non-FA Medical Courses**
Holds a minimum of the FA Level 3 Emergency Medical First Aid in Football (EMFAiF) or suitable
similar recognised equivalent.
Has gained experience of previously working within semi-professional or a professional sports club in
a similar role.
Full membership with the The Health and Care Professions Council or Society of Sports Therapists, or
alternate appropriate registered body with accompanying insurance.
Working Schedule:
The successful candidate will be required for all home and away match days, which will include travelling
the day before most away league matches.
They will also attend all training sessions, although these are subject to change, due to fixture scheduling
and the discretion of the first team manager.
Other information:
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a FA Disclosure and Barring Service Check
(FA DBS).

**Equivalent courses for Advanced Trauma Medical Management in Football (ATMMiF)
The FA are working cross-football with leagues to ensure healthcare professionals who work pitch-side in
the Premier League, WSL/WCL, EFL and NLS have received bespoke training on concussion management
and return to play as part of their wider emergency care training on ATMMiF.
ATMMiF is a RCSEd FPHC endorsed course and part of the Cross Recognition of Emergency Care Courses
in Sport agreement. Only endorsed courses listed in this agreement, as advised by the joint statement
released by the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine, the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care and the British
Association of Sport and Exercise Medicine will be accepted as equivalent by The FA.
The Rugby Football League (RFL) Immediate Medical Management on the Field of Play (IMMoFP)
The RFU Pre Hospital Immediate Care in Sport (PHICIS) Level 3 course
The Scottish Rugby Union Medical Cardiac & Pitch Side Skills (SCRUMCAPS)
Please note: Whilst the RCSEd provide academic endorsement they do not provide equivalency. The
sports trauma courses endorsed but not listed in the cross-sport recognition agreement or the non-
sports trauma courses endorsed by the RCSEd FPHC will not be accepted for ITMMiF or ATMMiF
equivalency
