The Role
Deliver the Academy Coaching Curriculum with the Under 18’s.

The Club operates out of multiple sites, including a world class Training Centre in Enfield where all the First Team and the Academy’s training and coaching activities occur, and where the Academy department is based.

The position will involve working irregular hours (e.g. Evenings / Saturdays / Sundays / Bank Holidays, school holidays) so a flexible candidate is sought.


Key Responsibilities
Devise and deliver sessions to the U18’s in the Professional Development Phase within the Academy Curriculum/Syllabus
Provide on an individual basis the support for all players to ensure they gain the appropriate challenge during their U18 season
Responsible for match day preparation and performance with the U18’s
Participate in the selection of squads and travel on foreign tours as required, providing pastoral care that adheres to Academy guidelines/policies
Conduct and compile Individual Learning Plans for players in the U18’s in line with the Premier League rules
Conduct mid-season and end of season player review meetings
Establish relationships with players and parents of allocated age group in line with Academy Policies, managing age group specific communication via Club issued devices
Work closely with Academy Medical, Sports Science, Analysis, Education, Player Care/Safeguarding, Operations and Kit staff regarding the players’ holistic programme and needs
Embody the Academy Methodology and apply to all aspects of interactions with Academy Stakeholders (players, parents & colleagues)
Maintain mandatory CPD record, including Club issue DBS check (every three years), UEFA Licence (15 hours of the appropriate level CPD every three years), FA Advanced Youth Award, FA Safeguarding Children Workshop (every three years), relevant FA Emergency First Aid qualification as per Premier League rules (currently EFAiF – every three years)
Ensure the U18’s KitMan data entry (both for training sessions and matches) is accurate and up-to-date to support the players development journey
Work in relation with U21 Head Coach to provide updates on U18 players
Provide appropriate opportunity for U18’s to gain experience of following a U21’s programme
Plan with U16 Head Coach squad selection for U17 fixtures
Support parent/player meetings regarding decisions on professional contracts and update on progress
Provide the appropriate aftercare and support with players to ensure they have the required opportunities post scholarship in liaison with player care department
Provide player bios and supporting video using a multi-disciplinary approach to show continued support in ensuring released players gain opportunity to continue within professional football where appropriate
Liaise with the Head of Academy Coaching to support individual needs around self-development
Plan and deliver a world leading training and games programme with the U18’s in line with the EPPP ensuring a multi-disciplinary approach to learning
Lead daily multi-disciplinary meetings to discuss programme, players, teams and any other priorities
Liaise with Academy Recruitment team regarding potential trialist/signings
Support the recruitment team with Academy In Service events when appropriate
Ensure all Individual Learning Plans are attached to each player
Update Head of Academy Coaching and Academy Director of notices on a weekly basis
Support U21/1st team requirements when appropriate
Support decision making process on U16 scholarship decisions
