Job Description
The Head of Facilities is a member of the Senior Leadership Team at Tigers Trust, leading the facilities directorate.

The role will be the main contact and lead officer for the facility redevelopment planning and refurbishment, ensuring the facility is able to adapt to future use as the Trust grows. This includes navigating planning processes, inspiring stakeholders with bold visions and securing investment to realise those ambitions.

Growing partnerships and programmes that establish the Tigers Trust Arena as a community hub that supports local people to be active, connected and lead healthy lives.

Through this approach, maintain and grow the programmes and user levels of the Tigers Trust Arena, through repeat customers, corporate business hire, and new activities that engage the communities around the West Park area. Growing the Arena as a viable business, balancing football development programmes, community use, and non-traditional activities.

This role will also have responsibility to lead the environmental sustainability commitment of the Tigers Trust through its on and off-site activities.

Key Accountabilities of the Role
Capital Build and Infrastructure Improvement
• To lead on the development of creative, innovate capital projects that encourage new or additional use.
• Build relationships with different stakeholders including users and the local community to ensure that designs are based on demand and need.
• To identify and apply for grants and funds to assist with the costs associated with planned improvements.
• To have oversight of the lease with Hull City Football Club and Stadium Management Company (SMC). Acting as a point of contact for any changes to premises/estates prior to changes being made, and negotiate with the landlord when work is required in line with the existing lease.
• To oversee the planning requests with relevant bodies

Business Growth
• To ensure steady and growing income at the Tigers Trust Arena through understanding the competitive market, developing new partnerships, programmes, and improved inclusive spaces available to meet the needs of the community.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with local key stakeholders.
• Regularly gather and act on feedback from customers to improve services and facilities
• Implement user-friendly systems for booking, payments and communication with customers.

Environmental Sustainability
• To be the strategic lead on environmental sustainability as part of the Trusts Capability Code of Practice compliance.
• To lead the Tigers Trust Environmental Sustainability Group, working with staff across the organisation to identify and implement opportunities to improve processes and practices both at Tigers Trust Arena and the wider work of the Trust.
• To identify and apply for investment that can be used to reduce the carbon footprint of the Tigers Trust and the Tigers Trust Arena

Other Duties
• To undertake regular one-to-one meetings and performance reviews with your direct reports and line manager.
• To liaise with insurers in the case of reporting incidents and processing premises related claims.
• To act as Duty Manager on rotation with the Facility Manager to ensure the building is appropriately staffed throughout the week.

Qualifications / Training
Essential:
• While a driving licence is not necessarily a prerequisite, the ability to travel independently and willingness to travel is essential. We are committed to making reasonable adjustments and may consider alternatives such as public transport or taxis to accommodate individual needs.
• First Aid at Work qualification (or willingness to obtain)
• FA Safeguarding Children and adults at risk (or willingness to obtain)
• Safer Recruitment training (or willing to work towards)

Desirable:
• Project Management Qualification
• Certified Facility Manager (CFM) credential or equivalent
• NEBOSH / IOSH Qualification


Experience
Essential:
• Knowledge and experience of the planning process and relevant legalities
• Proven project management skills
• Experience securing investment for capital development
• Experience of working with a variety of stakeholders including building contractors and senior leaders
• Inclusive practices especially on the topic of accessibility to and within a sports facility.
• Strong planning and administrative skills, especially when managing competing priorities and deadlines
• Budget Management
• Sound experience of using a range of IT systems including word, excel and email
• Strong communication skills, written, verbal, listening and non-verbal.

Desirable:
• Knowledge of current health and safety legislation
• Experience developing commercial partnerships and packages
• Good Knowledge of local services, stakeholders and partners
• Problem-solving skills
