Job Description
Tigers Trust is looking for a strategic, creative, and results-driven Marketing, Communications, and Events Manager to increase visibility and drive business growth across Hull, East Riding and the wider region. This role is pivotal in developing and executing innovative communications strategies, particularly focusing on B2B initiatives that generate investment, secure contracts, and amplify our brand story. You’ll lead efforts that engage key stakeholders, from political leaders to corporate executives and local communities.


Key Accountabilities of the Role
Strategic Communications
• Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy that aligns with organisational goals and drives investment.
• Ensure consistent messaging across all platforms and materials, adjusting to meet the needs of diverse audiences.
• Monitor, evaluate and refine communications strategies to maximise impact.
• To oversee the organisational stakeholder engagement plan, to ensure we communicate with intent.

Public Relations and Media
• Build and maintain relationships with local and national media
• Write and distribute press releases, media kits, and manage media enquiries
• Proactively generate media coverage for programmes, events and success stories.

Business to Business (B2B) Communications
• Create tailored communications for corporate partners, sponsors and funders.
• Support fundraising and investment campaigns with compelling content and presentations.
• Collaborate with the Head of Business to refine messaging for B2B communications.

Digital and Content Management
• Oversee website content, social media channels, newsletters and blogs.
• Produce engaging multimedia content including videos, graphics and case studies.
• Manage brand guidelines and ensure visual consistency.
• Develop simple and efficient processes that allow programmes to develop consistent case studies, reports and content that can be used to report to investors and tell our story effectively.

Fundraising Events
• Lead the coordination of high-profile fundraising events, such as Question of Sport.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure smooth event execution and maximise revenue.
• Build on the positive relationship with Hull City to maximise the partnership agreement, including developing shared fundraising events and opportunities for business growth and reach.

Other Responsibilities
• Management of the organisational marketing and communications budget.
• To undertake regular one-to-one meetings and performance reviews with your direct reports and line manager, supporting them to develop and achieve high performance.
• Identify and address training needs for the organisation related to marketing and communications.
• To undertake any reasonable tasks or responsibilities the CEO or Head of Business deems necessary.

Personal Competencies
· Excellent leadership and organisational skills
· Able to self-motivate and able to work on own initiative to drive projects forward

· Excellent time management and ability to prioritise key tasks to support effective operations
· Excellent attention to detail with regards to reviewing and preparing documentation, with excellent written and verbal communication
· Empathetic and approachable with a sense of integrity.
· Able to create a positive culture and positive working environment for colleagues
· Adaptable and can work under pressure in an environment which changes regularly.
· Strong administrative and IT Skills, in particular Microsoft Office, Google packages and databases
· Can put the Tigers Trust first, and understand wider business needs, as and when necessary. Including working on evenings, weekends and matchdays.


Qualifications / Training
Essential:
• A degree or similar level of qualification and training in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism or related field.
• Evidence of a commitment to personal development that aligns to communications and marketing
• Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults (or be willing to work towards)

Desirable:
• Project Management Qualification
• Relevant qualifications in digital tools
• Full Clean Driving License


Experience
Essential:
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a communications, marketing, or event management, ideally within the charity, sport, or social impact sector.
• Proven track record in media relations and securing press coverage
• Experience in B2B communications and stakeholder engagement
• Strong writing and storytelling skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in digital tools (e.g. CMS, social media platforms, email marketing software)
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Passion for sport and community development, with the ability to strategically leverage communications.

Desirable:
• Knowledge of the football and sports charity landscape in the UK
• Experience with fundraising communications
• Graphic Design or Video editing skills
• Familiarity with CRM systems and data-driven communications
• Experience of managing inclusive events including undertaking safeguarding, equality impact, and risk assessments.
• Matrix management of teams.
