Job Description: Are you a passionate Dodgeball coach, looking to work in a vibrant university sport environment? The University of Portsmouth is seeking an enthusiastic Dodgeball Coach to support the development of our BUCS teams, following promotion to the National League for the 2026-27 season.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with motivated student-athletes, helping to enhance performance, grow participation, and foster a positive and inclusive club environment. The successful applicant will be available from September 2026 - April 2027.

Purpose of the Role
You’ll play a key role in supporting the delivery of dodgeball activity across the club, working closely with student leaders to create an engaging, structured, and enjoyable programme.

Key responsibilities include:
Planning and delivering high-quality training sessions, supporting technical, tactical and match play
Selecting and communicating with players for BUCS fixtures
Attending and supporting fixtures where possible
Working collaboratively with the student club committee, including supporting trials
Promoting a positive and inclusive club culture

Training & Fixtures
Training sessions take place on Tuesdays 12pm - 2pm and Fridays 9pm - 10.30pm at Ravelin Sports Centre, Cambridge Road, Portsmouth. Please note, the successful applicant will only need to attend and deliver one training session per week.

BUCS fixtures typically take place on Wednesday afternoons (times and locations vary). While it is desirable for coaches to attend fixtures, it is not mandatory.

Criteria
Essential: Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Dodgeball
Essential: Organised and reliable
Essential: A confident communicator who can motivate and support student athletes
Desirable: Level 3 Certificate in Coaching Dodgeball
Desirable: Experienced or knowledgeable in Dodgeball within higher education
