Job Description: Purpose of the Role
The University of Portsmouth have three Men’s Futsal teams that compete in the BUCS league, with the 1st team in the South Eastern Tier 1A league, the 2nd team in the South Eastern Tier 2A league, and the 3rd team in the South East Tier 3A league. We are recruiting for a 2nd team coach to lead them for the 2025/26 season.

The successful candidate will be available to deliver weekly training sessions for the club from September - April and attend and manage fixtures.

Training sessions take place on:
- Tuesdays 6.30pm - 8.30pm at St. Paul’s Gym, St. Paul’s Road, Portsmouth
- Thursdays 9pm - 10.30pm at Ravelin Sports Centre, Cambridge Road, Portsmouth
- If candidates can only make one training session, that will be considered

Fixtures are scheduled for Sunday afternoons (times & locations vary).

Main Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the coaching staff to organise and deliver the clubs’ team trials
- Plan, deliver and evaluate weekly training sessions for the 2nd team
- Communicate effectively with the Team Captain and players regarding team selection
- Attend fixtures and manage the match-day squad where possible
- Promote the club’s philosophy to all members
- Adhere to the University’s Code of Conduct and relevant policies
- Be fit to work with adults at risk

Criteria:
- Essential: Introduction to Coaching Futsal
- Desirable: National Futsal Course / previous FA Level 2 in Coaching Futsal
- Essential: Previous coaching experience
- Desirable: An understanding of Futsal within Higher Education
