The role sits within the Premier League Elite Performance team, who support the Football Department’s objectives by driving and supporting world leading player health, performance support and pathway management in the Professional Game.It is an exciting time to join the Premier League’s Football Department with the role offering the opportunity to develop and evolve the ongoing work associated with the Premier League SAAP. The Premier League SAAP is an initiative that aims to support the key commitments of the League's ongoing No Room for Racism Action Plan, to enhance player and career pathways and help diversify across the workforce within the Professional Game. South Asian communities have historically been underrepresented in the sport, both on and off the field. The overall goal of this plan is to create a more diverse and inclusive environment in football, ensuring that talent from all backgrounds has the opportunity to thrive. The preferred candidate must have cultural competence and understanding in this domain, while having a broader awareness of the related Pathway Management areas. All staff liaise closely with their line manager to manage their time appropriately and according to their work and team requirements. The role• Develop and assist the implementation of initiatives to increase South Asian representation in men’s football • Coordinate SAAP-related projects and establish working relationships across departments (including Football, Policy and Community) to facilitate cross-departmental collaboration• Collaborate with Football Partners, Club Academies, Club Community Organisations, schools, and other organisations on SAAP related topics and projects• Monitor and report on the progress of the SAAP, highlighting successes and areas for improvement• Lead on the Premier League’s Emerging Talent Festivals, connecting community and academy environments• Participate in outreach and engagement activities that promote diversity and inclusion in football• Devise and implement an engagement plan with key stakeholders, including parents, scouts and coaches • Manage pathway management related events such as Head of Recruitment engagements which will including travel arrangements and event setup and create interdepartmental collaboration around these events• Support new and existing pathway management projects and workstreams, especially in respect of initiatives to broaden the talent pool• Contribute to the development and use of the Football Intelligence Platform within the area of pathway management• Assist in the collection, analysis and presentation of data related to pathway management, including development of reliable baselines data on player entry, retention and succession• Ensure evidence-informed approaches in Elite Performance team activities, sharing insights to inform guidelines and recommendations• Align and facilitate accurate Academy demographic data for stakeholder understanding of player and workforce demographics collaborating with PLEDIS and EDI leads• Support opportunities of pathway across other footballing Club departmentsRequirements for the role• Cultural competence and understanding of South Asian communities• Experience in developing and implementing diversity and inclusion initiatives• Strong communication and outreach skills with a range of stakeholders and communities• Experience of working or volunteering in Football at Academy, Community or Grassroots level• Understanding of Talent ID principles (desirable)• Prior operational and administrative experience• Experience of working with children and adults at risk and/or knowledge and understanding of issues that affect their safety and wellbeing• Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills• Event planning and orgnisational skills• Analytical skills for compiling and interpreting reports and proficient in data collection, analysis and presentationOur commitment to safeguarding includes implementing robust safer recruitment procedures to assess the suitability of individuals applying for roles that involve work with children and adults who are or may be at risk of harm.
