Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE

The Golf Foundation is looking for an experienced individual to lead the strategic delivery, growth, and operational management of the hugely successful and popular GolfSixes League programme, now in 600+ golf clubs across Great Britain and Ireland and 16 countries internationally. The role will focus on expanding participation, growing female involvement from the current levels of 25%, enhancing the experience for young players, and supporting clubs and volunteers to deliver high-quality, inclusive team golf opportunities for juniors in GolfSixes League.

The role will involve considerable stakeholder engagement, both internally and externally, with the ability to navigate complexities as well as build and foster strong and trusted relationships.

Whilst the remit and skill set of the role is broad, focussed on one of our flagship programmes, the GolfSixes League Manager is also a key member of the Development team, and as a programme manager it comes with an expectation of contributing to the wider department’s work programme, modelling strong communication behaviours as well as championing our organisational values.

ABOUT US

The Golf Foundation is a registered charity that provides young people with a fun & inclusive introduction to golf, the opportunity to play regularly and develop lifelong skills. We believe that the sport of golf has certain inherent core values, and we also teach and measure key mental toughness tools as part of all our programmes.

A core ambition is to help open up the sport to a wide range of underserved communities, encouraging a diverse range of young people to experience and take up the sport, building their skills and resilience in the process.

We deliver adapted programmes in schools, community groups and golf clubs, introducing young people to golf in their own environment and helping clubs to welcome them into a sport for life. Our headline initiative in schools, Unleash Your Drive, which teaches mental toughness skills through golf is driven by our inspirational President, Nick Dougherty, and our popular club beginners competition, GolfSixes League is now played in over 600 golf clubs across GB&I. LET and Solheim Cup player, Charlie Hull is our GolfSixes League Ambassador.

We are a small and friendly organisation driven by our belief in making the introduction of golf to young people FUN, inclusive, inspiring, innovative and enriching. We welcome diversity of thought and background to help us achieve our objectives. We are looking for someone who believes in the power of sport and physical activity to help make a difference to young people’s lives, and can help bring our values alive and inspire the next generation to enjoy the many benefits of golf to society.

If you’re inspired and excited about working at the Golf Foundation, we’d love to hear from you.
