Closing date

Job Description
Waterskiing and wakeboarding represents a great destination sport and outdoor experience that has the ability to inspire and create loyal participants for the longer term. The sport transcends the urban environment, provides a positive sense of release and connects well with youth lifestyle and culture. As we approach our 75th anniversary, we aim to recruit a forward thinking individual who can focus the organisation on greater innovation, profile and reach for what is a unique facility driven sport with an impressive sporting history and commendable track record of success.

Our current Chair indicated last summer that he would be stepping down after over 5 years in the role and having completed 10 years tenure as a director which represents the normal maximum period of office under Sport England’s Sports Code. We are looking for a new Chair who has an excellent understanding of business matters, able to lead strategically and work collaboratively. Any candidate should be comfortable and assured in running board meetings and getting the very best from the other directors. As an organisation we operate in an increasingly challenging environment with changing patterns of behaviour in how people consume sport. Working closely with our CEO, you will have a unique and exciting opportunity to lead our board and shape our future with a forward thinking and proactive approach.
You don’t have to be an expert in our sport but a passion for and proven experience in setting excellent standards of corporate governance & strategic leadership and managing external member and stakeholder relationships are essential. Further details on the role and our organisation:

As part of our Diversity & Inclusion Action Plan we aim, to the extent possible, to increase the diversity at board level, with a view to achieving better decision making and being more representative of the wider communities we serve.
How to apply
For an informal discussion of the role and to express interest please contact our CEO in the first instance: patrick@bwsf.co.uk to arrange a call. To apply kindly forward a one page covering letter outlining what you feel you can bring to the role together with a summary CV.
