Job Description
About Us
Tennis in Merton, formerly Emma Wells Tennis, is the newly appointed operator of all parks tennis facilities in Merton. With 12 sites and 61 courts, we aim to build one of the UK’s largest and most vibrant tennis communities. Located in the tennis capital of the UK, home to Wimbledon, Merton is poised to set the standard for inclusive, dynamic, and innovative parks tennis programs.

Key Responsibilities
1. Program Development
Collaborate with the leadership team to expand services such as private lessons, group coaching, tournaments, and social tennis events.
2 Innovate offerings, introducing pickleball or other complementary activities, to maximize court utilization.
3. Develop programs for underrepresented groups, including older adults, disabled players, and juniors, encouraging both formal and informal matchplays.
4. Operations Management
Streamline processes for coach scheduling, court usage, and program delivery to ensure efficient operations.
5. Oversee facility maintenance to meet safety and quality standards.
Support the process of developing an effective booking system and operational workflow..
6. Strategic Growth
Build and nurture partnerships with schools, local councils, and community organizations to secure contracts and collaborations.
Identify opportunities to attract new demographics and expand participation in tennis and related activities.
Customer Relationship Management
Lead the office team to deliver excellent customer service and maintain positive relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
Handle complaints and feedback professionally to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Compliance and Risk Management
Ensure full compliance with legal, regulatory, and industry standards.
Identify potential risks, including financial, operational, or safety risks, and implement mitigation strategies.

Experience
Essential Experience and Skills:
1.Management Experience: At least 5 years of management experience in parks tennis or a related sports facility environment.
2.Operational Expertise: Demonstrable experience in streamlining operations and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
3.Strategic Growth: Proven ability to develop and grow programs, including innovative offerings.
4.Financial Acumen: Experience managing budgets, monitoring income and expenditure, and delivering revenue-generating programs.
5.Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to engage with stakeholders, clients, and teams.
6.Project Management: Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
7.Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
Knowledge of parks tennis and the broader tennis ecosystem in the UK.
8.Experience working with governing bodies such as the LTA or local councils.
9.Familiarity with CRM systems and tennis booking platforms.
10. Understanding of marketing strategies for community sports programs.
