Job Description
About Team Bath AS
Team Bath AS is a performance swimming club committed to helping swimmers of all abilities reach their full potential at junior and senior levels. Our experienced, passionate coaching team supports athletes from grassroots to national and international standards including swimmers with disabilities. We pride ourselves on fostering a positive, inclusive and supportive environment.

Role Summary
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Development Coach to support the delivery of
high-quality training sessions for our Midsomer Norton squads (ages 7–14). Working closely
with the Lead Coach and Head of Swimming, you will help shape the development of our
younger swimmers through engaging, structured and technically sound coaching.

JOB DESCRIPTION- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in the delivery of squad training sessions for development-level swimmers.
• Lead sessions as required and provide coaching cover when necessary.
• To write and deliver sessions in line with the club’s annual training plan.
• Provide regular, constructive feedback to swimmers and contribute to their individual progress tracking.
• Communicate positively and effectively with swimmers, parents, and fellow coaches.
• Uphold and promote the club’s safeguarding, welfare, and equality values.
• Support the wider poolside team in delivering a safe and inclusive coaching environment.
• Represent Team Bath AS at competitions and events, where appropriate.
• Adhere to Wavepower guidance, club policies, and facility health & safety procedures (EAP, NOP, risk assessments).
• Participate in continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities to maintain and enhance coaching knowledge and skills.
• Be a role model and ambassador for Team Bath AS, demonstrating professionalism and commitment.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Qualifications and Experience:

• Swim England Swimming Coach Certificate or ASA/UKCC Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Swimming.
We welcome applications from Swim England Assistant Swimming Coaches (Level 1) willing to work towards the Swimming Coach qualification or enrolled on an upcoming course.
• Experience delivering structured training to young swimmers of varying abilities.
• Understanding of competitive swimming and the swimmer development pathway.
• Strong organisational skills, including planning and time management.
• Familiarity with Wavepower and Swim England best practices.
• Current Safeguarding and Protecting Children certificate, a Swim England Safeguarding certificate or Swim England Safeguarding in Aquatics certificate.
The club can provide information and funding for the 3-hour Swim England course.
Desirable:

• Experience coaching at open meets or licensed competitions.
• Experience supporting swimmers with additional needs.
