Job Description
Job Title: Volunteer/Paid Football Coach
Organisation: Taylor Sports and Wellbeing
Location: Local community venues (sessions delivered across local facilities)
Commitment: Volunteer – Sundays, Saturdays and selected midweek sessions

Role Overview

Taylor Sports and Wellbeing is looking for enthusiastic and reliable Volunteer/paid Football Coaches to support our community football programmes. The role involves helping deliver fun, engaging and inclusive football sessions for young participants across our Little Stars, Sunday Football Fun, Saturday 121 sessions, and midweek development sessions.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with children, are passionate about football, and want to make a positive impact in the community through sport and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

Support the delivery of fun and engaging football sessions for children of different ages and abilities.

Assist with Little Stars sessions on Sundays, helping introduce younger children to football through fun games and basic skills.

Help facilitate Saturday 1-to-1 development sessions, supporting players with individual skill development.

Assist with midweek coaching sessions, helping deliver structured activities and drills.

Encourage participation, teamwork, confidence and enjoyment in all sessions.

Help set up and pack away equipment before and after sessions.

Maintain a safe, inclusive and positive environment for all participants.

Support the lead coach in managing groups and ensuring sessions run smoothly.

Promote the values of Taylor Sports and Wellbeing, including respect, wellbeing and community engagement.

Skills and Qualities

Passion for football and working with children and young people.

Positive attitude and good communication skills.

Reliable and committed to scheduled sessions.

Ability to motivate and encourage young players.

Team player who can support lead coaches and other volunteers.

Patient, supportive and enthusiastic approach.

Desirable (but not essential)

Previous coaching or volunteering experience in sport.

A basic football coaching qualification.

Safeguarding or first aid training.

Experience working with children.

Training and support may be provided for the right candidate.

Safeguarding

Taylor Sports and Wellbeing is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Volunteers may be required to complete safeguarding training and a DBS check where appropriate.
