About Us

Swim England is the recognised national governing body for swimming, artistic swimming, diving and water polo in England. We help people learn how to swim, enjoy the water safely, and maximise their potential in aquatic sport at every level — from community participation to world-class performance.

The Institute of Swimming (IoS) is our training and education arm, delivering high-quality qualifications, CPD, and learning experiences for instructors, coaches, tutors and aquatic professionals across the country. We are committed to providing excellent customer service and ensuring every learner and tutor receives the support they need to succeed.

About the Role

We are looking for an organised, proactive and customer‑focused individual to plan, coordinate and deliver a high‑quality programme of IOS training and CPD courses within their designated area. The Course Coordinator will work closely with the Senior Course Coordinator, tutors, venues, internal teams and customers to ensure courses are viable, well‑resourced, delivered within budget and aligned with organisational KPIs.

You will be confident managing multiple priorities and deadlines, using your excellent communication, IT and organisational skills to provide accurate information and a positive end‑to‑end experience for learners and stakeholders. Resourceful and solutions‑focused, you will be comfortable troubleshooting challenges as they arise and contributing to effective marketing and promotion of courses, while embodying the Institute’s values of quality, purpose, togetherness, fun and resourcefulness.

Key Responsibilities

In this role you will:

Develop and progress detailed annual training plans for all courses and CPDs within your geographical area, to meet the needs of employers, clubs and individuals to meet the Institute’s targets.
Work with other departments, customers and stakeholders to deliver the KPI’s set by senior management.
Ensure that all courses are planned and delivered within the required budgetary requirements, confirming financial viability and reporting regularly to the Senior Course Coordinator.
Troubleshoot effectively, working with the Senior Course Coordinator when required, to ensure that courses run whilst remaining financially viable.
Effectively communicate with delivery venues, tutors, internal departments and other stakeholders, to ensure all information, administration and resources are in place prior to courses starting to best fulfil the needs of our customers.
Using marketing materials, in line with agreed sales strategies, market the training opportunities to the local area to ensure that courses are viable and run where possible at maximum capacity.
Liaise with, and allocate, appropriately qualified and licensed tutors and presenters to deliver training and troubleshoot for replacements if necessary
Carry out any other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job and proactively comply with organisation policies and procedures.
