About the Role

Stockport County Football Club is seeking reliable, organised and proactive individuals to join the Academy Operations Department as casual Academy Training & Match Day Coordinators.

The role will support the smooth delivery of Academy training sessions, fixtures, festivals and events across the Club’s Academy venues. Coordinators provide an important operational presence on site, helping ensure that players, parents/guardians, staff, visiting teams, match officials, scouts and other visitors receive a professional and welcoming experience.

The successful candidates will work closely with the Head of Academy Operations and wider Academy staff to ensure facilities are prepared correctly, safeguarding and operational procedures are followed, and consistently high standards are maintained across all Academy activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are organised, approachable and confident working independently within a professional football environment.

Key Responsibilities

● Support the smooth running of Academy training sessions, match days, festivals and other Academy events across multiple venues.
● Complete pre-session and pre-match site checks, including pitch, goal and facility checks.
● Ensure appropriate signage, maps, barriers and other operational equipment are correctly positioned before activities commence.
● Set up and manage match day and training equipment, including dugouts, corner flags,
signage and chain barriers.
● Manage site access and ensure players, parents/guardians and visitors are directed to the appropriate areas.
● Welcome and assist visiting teams, staff, match officials, EFL and FA representatives, scouts, agents and other authorised visitors.
● Manage scout attendance, including issuing passes and directing scouts to the appropriate viewing areas.
● Support spectator management and maintain appropriate access controls across Academy sites.
● Provide a visible and approachable point of contact for players, parents/guardians, staff and visitors.
● Support crowd management and calmly assist with any operational issues or conflict that may arise.
● Ensure relevant safeguarding procedures and risk assessments are followed.
● Ensure Academy facilities and operational areas are maintained to the expected standard throughout each shift.
● Complete post-event reports and communicate any issues, incidents or maintenance requirements to the Head of Academy Operations.
● Undertake other reasonable operational duties as required.

● A flexible approach to working evenings and weekends.
● Previous experience within sport, events, facilities, customer service or a similar operational environment is desirable but not essential.
● An understanding of safeguarding and the responsibilities associated with working around children and young people.
● Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.

Working Pattern

● The role is casual, with shifts available across Academy training sessions and match days throughout the week and at weekends.
● Typical requirements include weekday evening training sessions, Saturday fixtures and Sunday fixtures, although working patterns will vary depending on the Academy programme.
● Hours are not guaranteed and will vary throughout the season according to training, fixtures, tournaments, events and other operational requirements.

Venues

● The role may involve working across: Stockport Sports Village, Stockport County Training Centre, Cheadle Hulme School & Edgeley Park.
● Due to the locations of our Academy venues and the hours associated with the role, applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to their own vehicle. Driving players or Club vehicles does not form part of the Coordinator role. This requirement is already explained in your current role document.

Additional Information

● This is a casual position and hours are not guaranteed, although shifts will be available regularly throughout the Academy season.
● The role will primarily involve evening and weekend work, with occasional daytime opportunities depending on the Academy programme.
● An Enhanced DBS check will be required, which the Club can support if not already held.
● Full operational guidance and role-specific training will be provided.
