Role Overview

Edgeley Park Events offers one of the largest portfolios of event spaces in Stockport and is based at Stockport County, a historic football club. The 1883 boasts a capacity of up to 800, making it one of the largest event spaces in the area.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Sales & Event Coordinator to join our Sales team, delivering exceptional customer service from the very first enquiry through to seamless event execution. In this role, you’ll input event details into our venue and event management system, gather key information from clients, and support the Sales Manager in nurturing repeat business and expanding Edgeley Park Events’ customer base.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately input and maintain event details within the company's venue and event management software. • Liaise with customers to obtain and verify event requirements, timings, attendee numbers, catering needs, and other relevant information. • Ensure all event sheets / Banquet Event Orders are up to date and accurately reflect customer requirements. • Coordinate with internal teams (including, but not limited to, Food & Beverage, Facilities, and the Community Trust) to communicate event information and support successful event delivery. • Assist customers with event-related enquiries in a professional and timely manner. • Support the Sales Manager in maintaining relationships with existing clients and recurring bookings. • Help identify opportunities to increase repeat business and customer retention. • Prepare sales and event administration documentation, contracts, and reports as required. • Monitor booking activity and provide administrative support throughout the sales and event lifecycle. • Contribute to delivering a positive customer experience from initial enquiry through to event completion.

Essential

• Previous experience in an administrative, sales support, customer service, hospitality, or events coordination role. • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. •. Exceptional customer service skills, with proven ability to deliver warm, professional and proactive support from first enquiry through to event completion • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and database management systems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy. • Strong communication skills, experience working directly with customers and handling enquiries professionally and with confidence • GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Mathematics at Grade C/4 or above.

Desirable

• Experience using venue management or event management software. • Sales or account management experience. • A-levels (or equivalent qualification).

Skills and Competencies

• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple bookings, deadlines, and priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling event information and data entry.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Confident using databases, CRM systems, and event management software.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond effectively to changing customer requirements.
• Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional and courteous approach when dealing with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of the importance of customer retention and repeat business.

Reporting Structure

• The Sales & Events Coordinator will report directly to the Sales Manager.
• The Sales & Events Coordinator will also work closely with the Commercial Operations Director, Head of Food & Beverage, Head Chef, Food & Beverage Manager, and the Stadium & Operations Coordinator.
