Job Description
Vacancy: Inclusion Co-Ordinator – Armed Forces and Walking Football

Stockport County Community Trust is looking for an Inclusion Co-Ordinator to lead the delivery and development of the Armed Forces and Walking Football Programmes. The Inclusion Co-Ordinator (Armed Forces/Walking Football) will work as part of the Inclusion Team and be responsible for delivering the current Armed Forces and Walking Football sessions whilst identifying opportunities to develop and grow the programmes.

About Stockport County Community Trust

Stockport County Community Trust is the official charity of Stockport County Football Club, which was set up in 2021 after the purchase of the club by Mark Stott, with the aim of ensuring the football club has a positive impact in the local community. The charity works across Stockport and the surrounding area to use the power of football and Stockport County to make a positive difference by inspiring, educating and supporting the community.

The charity engages with around 10,000 people each year through a variety of education, social inclusion and health and wellbeing programmes, working with residents aged from 5-85 (the current age of our youngest and oldest participants) in a variety of club and community settings.

Purpose of the role

Stockport County Community Trust is seeking an Inclusion Co-Ordinator (Armed Forces/Walking Football) who preferably has served in the Armed Forces to continue to develop the Trust's mission of “using the power of Stockport County FC to make a positive difference by inspiring, educating and supporting our community”.

The postholder will lead on our Armed Forces and Walking Football programme, which will include delivering a range of projects, helping to promote physical activity in our local community. This is a rare and unique opportunity to join a charity which is developing and expanding its community provision, and which is committed to making a difference to the community in Stockport.

Roles and responsibilities

The Armed Forces and Walking Football Co ordinator will be responsible for the planning, delivery, development and sustainability of the Armed Forces and Walking Football programmes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Identifying and developing growth opportunities to increase participation across all Armed Forces sessions including Pool and Darts, NAAFI Break, Football and Veterans Walk.
• Planning and delivering weekly Armed Forces football sessions, alongside coordinating additional competitive and representative opportunities for the Armed Forces football team.
• Organising and delivering the weekly NAAFI Break, including arranging supplementary activities and trips to enhance participant engagement and wellbeing.
• Overseeing the delivery of weekly Walking Football sessions and organising additional fixtures, festivals, or competitive opportunities to enrich the participant experience.
• Organising and delivering a weekly football session in partnership with the Wellspring.
• Establishing and facilitating Armed Forces and Walking Football steering groups, ensuring effective engagement with key partners and stakeholders.
• Supporting the long term sustainability of the Armed Forces Programme by working closely with the Head of Inclusion and Participation to identify and secure appropriate funding opportunities.
• Managing the Armed Forces and Walking Football programme budgets, ensuring effective financial planning and accountability.
• Promoting and raising awareness of Armed Forces and Walking Football programmes through targeted communication and engagement activities.
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders and building positive connections within the Armed Forces community across Stockport.
• Monitoring and evaluating programme delivery, ensuring all participation and impact data is accurate and up to date across internal and external monitoring systems.
• Ensuring all Armed Forces and Walking Football programmes are fully compliant with safeguarding requirements, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion standards, health and safety regulations, and data protection legislation.

There may be a need within this role to work flexible and unsociable hours when required.
