About Sportable

Sportable delivers real-time player and Smart Ball tracking data to elite sports organisations globally, supporting performance, broadcast and data applications.

We work with world-class teams and organisations to transform how performance is measured, understood, and optimised.


The Role:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Sports Scientist to support the delivery of Sportable’s technology solutions within an elite Women’s Super League (WSL) football environment.
You will be responsible for the setup and operation of Sportable technology across training and match environments, delivering live insights and post-session analysis of Smart Ball and player tracking data to coaching, performance and analysis staff.
This is a hands-on, high-accountability role suited to individuals who thrive in fast-paced high-performance settings and possess strong communication skills, sound problem-solving ability and deep understanding of football and performance analysis.
This role requires regular on-site presence at WSL club training facility, with evening and weekend work likely, depending on training and match schedules.



Location: North-West or Midlands or London/South with regular on-site delivery at a Women’s Super League (WSL) club training facility



Responsibilities

Become a “super user” of Sportable’s technology
Deliver Sportable tracking operations for a WSL club’s training sessions and in match environments
Set-up, test and monitor Sportable’s Local Positioning System (LPS) technology including smart ball and player tracking
Validate and quality check tracking and event data post session
Troubleshoot hardware, software and operational issues in real time
Provide actionable performance insights live and post-session to coaching, analysis and performance staff
Collaborate with club analysts to investigate and manipulate event and tracking data
Build and maintain strong working relationships with key team and club stakeholders
Maintain accurate Sportable equipment inventory and deployment readiness
Work collaboratively with internal Sportable teams to support product development


Essential Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science, Sports Technology, Performance Analysis, or a related field
Strong understanding of football analytics, tactical principles, and modern performance trends
Ability to work effectively and solve problems in high-pressure, fast-moving environments
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and interpretation
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Flexibility to work outside standard hours, including evenings and weekends when required


Desirable Experience & Skills

Experience working within an elite sport or professional football environment
Practical experience with performance technologies such as GPS, video analysis, or tactical analysis platforms
Experience using data visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI
Knowledge of programming or data analysis languages such as Python
