What is the role?

We are seeking a Performance Wellbeing Lead to join our Girls and Women’s team to support the professional women's players with their mental, physical, social and financial needs in their playing and future careers while ensuring individual development plans are in place to prepare them for the pressures associated with professional football.

What will you be doing?

You will create a collaborative performance wellbeing blueprint that is specific to female athletes, utilising key staff within the multi-disciplinary team with a focus on building positive and effective relationships to ensure clarity of roles while maintaining strict confidentiality behaviours when discussing players.

You will carry out 121 meetings with all 1st team players to develop their personal development plans for off-pitch, while offering focused support to new players as well as those exiting the club and using knowledge of referral processes to support the ongoing wellbeing of players.

While integrating a mental health strategy which supports the players' mental well-being, you will work closely with the Performance Psychologist and Safeguarding Officer to develop an environment that supports the social and psychological development of our professional players. You will maintain records of all players and staff interactions that meet the highest professional standards with a good understanding of meticulous note-taking and recording needs.

Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Degree level qualification in: Wellbeing, Counselling or Sports Psychology with a focus on Female Athlete Health.
Certified training in Mental Health First Aid specifically in a sports environment.
UKAD Clean Sport Advisor or equivalent anti-doping certification.
Certificate in Safeguarding and Protecting Children/FA Safeguarding Children Course.
Athlete Personal and Development Lifestyle CPD Certification.
