With a thriving academy already providing new talent for the club and the creation of a Women’s first team ahead of the 2017/18 season, was the beginning of a prosperous rise into senior football. Our Women’s first team are full time professionals based at the famous and well known Staplewood Campus and also play their home games at St Mary’s Stadium. Our ambition is to become a competitive WSL team in the future and in order to achieve this we are looking for a dedicated and experienced Physiotherapist for the Women’s First Team. What is the role? We are looking for a Physiotherapist to join the Girls and Women’s Medical department to lead in the delivery of a first-class Physiotherapy & Injury Prevention service to all Women’s First Team players as well as supporting the performance team in the girls’ programme. What will you be doing? In this role you will lead in the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of all Women’s First Team players by producing progressive injury rehabilitation programmes based on our principles as well as leading on the smooth running of an injury prevention programme utilising the department's physiotherapists, sports science staff and students. Through conducting monthly clinical audits/reports and reviewing documentation, you will ensure injuries are managed effectively and will work with the Medical Team and Doctors to fulfil comprehensive medical reports on each player (particularly pre-signing medical examinations) in line with legislation, policies, and procedures. This will go in hand with designing and supporting individual performance plans to aid player development and progression. You will actively contribute to the department's research programme, including the design, collection and evaluation of department research, which will ensure a best practice protocol for SFC’s commonly occurring injuries is working in accordance to the latest evidence in literature. Although primarily working with the woman’s First Team you will also support the Performance Team in the Professional Game Academy (PGA) and oversea the Girls and Woman’s medical budget and performance staff to ensure the best use of resources. You will be a leader within the team with the ability to recognise and appropriately reward team members who are doing great work but you will also be able to manage team members when performance is poor in a constructive manner, addressing concerns quickly to ensure no disruption to the team and a positive team dynamic. Is this you? We are looking for someone who has a strong understanding of Physiotherapy and professional football with the ability to organise themselves in a busy working environment. The ideal candidate will possess good time management skills to allow them to manage projects effectively and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Essential Skills/Qualifications CSP/HCPC Registered BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy Experience managing own Caseload Extensive Manual Therapy Skills Knowledge in delivering the conditioning requirements of Elite Female Football.
