What is the role?

In this role you will support the identification and recruitment process for highly talented player acquisitions aged 17-21 for Southampton FC and where relevant, the wider Sport Republic Group. Monitoring key target markets, including UK & Ireland, France and Africa you will work closely with the group network on identified recruitment markets.

What will you be doing?

You will collaborate with the Head of Group Talant Acquisition to identify players within domestic and international markets through extensive video and live scouting, supporting the club's recruitment strategy and utilising data and video resources to conduct in-depth research into key markets, identifying suitable players for SFC and other Sport Republic clubs.

Working closely with the Talent Acquisition Analyst and Talent Acquisition Scouts, you will coordinate the information workflow within the department for SFC, alongside supporting the Sport Republic Scouting Team in identifying and reporting back on players of interest for the wider network.

You will develop a strong knowledge of players throughout the age groups while attending international and club tournaments across the UK and Europe, while building a network of contacts to support the talent acquisition scouting process and intelligence gathering. This will go in hand with supporting the completion of Player Packs for the Football Leadership Team and Player Presentations for target acquisition players.

You will be accountable for ensuring all reporting, video and data platforms are up to date and all scouting protocols are implemented across the department, adhering to a strict code of confidentiality in respect of any information relating to Southampton Football Club and its operation.



Is this you?

You are an experienced scout with excellent people skills, which will allows you to build strong professional relationships across the club and the wider network. You have extensive knowledge of football and an understanding of player potential.

Essential Skills and Experience

Minimum three years scouting experience working in similar role.

Bachelor degree in a relevant field.

FA Talent ID Level 3 (or working toward to).

Extensive knowledge and experience of the UK talent market between 16-21 years old.

Ability to demonstrate detailed understanding of individual player development and potential.

Meticulous attention to detail and high standards with reporting.

Ability to turnaround high-quality work with tight deadlines.

Desirable Skills and Experience

FA Talent ID Level 4.

Master's degree in a relevant field.

Minimum three years working in a Category 1 Academy.

Experience working in a multi-club model.

Experience and/or understanding of African, European and other talent markets.

Additional language skills.
