What is the role?

We are looking for a skilled and adaptable AV Technician to join our team at Southampton Football Club. This is a dynamic, event-led role supporting a wide range of club activities, from matchdays and internal meetings to conferences and large-scale externally hosted events. You will be responsible for maintaining and operating all AV hardware and software across the stadium, providing hands-on support before and during live events, and helping to deliver exceptional experiences for internal teams, fans, and clients.

What will you be doing?

You will maintain and support all AV equipment including audio, video, lighting, and presentation systems, and provide on-the-ground AV support during matchdays, conferences, meetings, and live events.

You will conduct thorough pre-event checks for all major fixtures, matchdays, and externally hosted events.

You will set up and operate AV systems for presentations, press conferences, and broadcast support, as well as supporting content playback, display schedules, and digital signage systems as required.

As part of the team, you will also collaborate with event organisers and third-party vendors to deliver high-quality AV delivery and troubleshoot technical issues quickly and efficiently in live environments. You will also support internal departments with AV needs (e.g. marketing, commercial, hospitality), and assist with procurement or recommendations for AV upgrades, replacements, and enhancements.

Is this you?

We are looking for someone who is hands-on, proactive, and has a team-focused approach to work, and who can work under pressure during high-profile events with large crowds or media presence. They will have strong communication and customer service skills and is comfortable working outside standard 9–5 hours, including evenings, weekends, and matchdays.

Essential

Experience in live AV event support, including sound, video, and lighting systems.

Proficient with AV equipment setup, troubleshooting, and software control interfaces.

Experience mixing live audio.

Desirable

Experience in sports, entertainment, or conference venue AV environments.

Familiarity with Dante, DMX lighting control, or video distribution systems.

Exposure to AV pre-sales, client liaison, or event planning discussions.

AV certifications (e.g. CTS, manufacturer training) or relevant technical qualifications.
