Operated by South London Girls Football Academy and NXT Level Sports and Education

Location: Colfes Leisure Centre
Day/Time: Sundays, 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Game Time: 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Season: September – April, with breaks during school holidays
Role Type: Part-time / Sunday delivery role

About the Role

South London Girls Football League is looking for enthusiastic and reliable Games Managers to support the delivery of our Under-7 girls’ football league.

This is a fantastic junior role for someone with some coaching experience, experience working with children, or a strong interest in developing within youth football. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping young players feel confident, supported and excited to play.

The Under-7 league operates without coaches, team managers or referees. Instead, the Games Manager helps supervise the games, support players, guide them with the basic rules and create a fun, positive and encouraging football environment.

This is a brilliant opportunity to gain hands-on experience in grassroots football, youth sport delivery and light supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Game Day Setup

Games Managers will arrive at 10:00 a.m. to support the League Operations Manager with preparing the venue before players arrive.

This will include:

- Setting up pitches.
- Building goals.
- Bringing equipment out to the playing area.
- Getting footballs ready.
- Putting up sponsor banners.
- Making sure everything is in place before the first players arrive at 10:45 a.m.
- Under-7 Game Supervision

During the game hour, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Games Managers will help oversee the Under-7 league games.

The role may include supervising up to two games at the same time and ensuring that players are supported throughout.

Responsibilities include:

- Helping players understand where they need to be.
- Supporting players with the basic rules of the game.
- Reassuring and encouraging young players during matches.
- Helping games flow smoothly and safely.
- Providing simple, positive coaching points where appropriate.
- Creating a fun and inclusive environment for all players.
- Supporting quick transitions and keeping games organised.
- Pack Down

After the games finish, Games Managers will support the League Operations Manager with packing down the venue.

This will include:

- Taking down goals.
- Collecting footballs and equipment.
- Removing sponsor banners.
- Returning equipment safely to storage.
- Helping leave the facility clean, organised and ready for the next users.

About You

We are looking for positive, dependable and enthusiastic individuals who enjoy working with children and want to develop their experience in football.

You do not need to be an experienced coach, but you should be confident, friendly and willing to learn.

You will be a great fit for this role if you are:

- Interested in football, coaching or youth sport.
- Confident supporting young children.
- Reliable, punctual and committed.
- Positive, patient and encouraging.
- Able to use your initiative.
- Comfortable helping with setup and pack down.
- Willing to learn from the League Operations Manager.
- Passionate about creating a great experience for young players.

Commitment

Games Managers must be fully committed to attending every Sunday during the league season, which runs from September to April, with breaks during school holidays.

Reliability is essential, as the role plays an important part in making sure the Under-7 league runs smoothly and players have the best possible experience each week.

Why This Role?

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build confidence and experience within the youth football world.

As a Games Manager, you will gain practical experience supporting young players, supervising games, assisting with football operations and contributing to a positive grassroots football environment.

For someone looking to get started in coaching, sports delivery, youth work or football leadership, this is a valuable and rewarding role with real responsibility and impact.
